Had this sitting in my files for awhile, decided to get it finished. I designed possible future kids or whatever for Sonic and Amy.Β
This is based in the canon game universe/alternate comic book universe.
Not much change for Sonic, just a few loose quills. Designed an older, more mature dress for Amy, longer quills. For their son, Kiro (K-eye-roe) I tried to make him unique, but still look related to Sonic, which was actually pretty difficult. After trying many things I just decided to give him a few extra spikes, and no back spike. For their daughter, Kara (ka-ra) I jus went for a Amy looking young girl, aaand amy styled clothes, just with pants. Kara and Kiro are twins, too c: Eh, this was just for fun really, probably wont ever draw them again xD

I also took Japanese,but does it really matter? I mean people pronounce things differently. I don't understand why it's such a huge deal that I pronounce a name differently. I like how it sounds, I knew a guy whos name was kiro, exactly how I pronounce it. It's just up to the mother, or creator in my case how their name is pronouced. Never knew sonic fan characters names had to be so 'correct'.

And there is also the fact that in the end Amy's probably more likely to kill Sonic than win his heart. As much as I like Amy her personality and Sonic's personality don't mach up or coordinated in any way. They probably always be friends but it will probably never go beyond that.
Nice character concepts anyway though.

I think it's probably best to not comment this stuff, because you're going to start a shipping war. Just let people like whatever they want.
Amy was originally designed to be Sonic's love interest. There are many moments in Sonic games that gets you thinking Sonic possibly does like Amy that way, even with the new Sonic Boom series there's a TON of sonamy. So let others like what they want, if you don't like it that's perfectly fine.

Don't worry. I didn't mean anything by it. Its just my opinion based on their personalities and interaction in the games. Nonetheless there have been stranger couples in real life that function very well.
Also shipping wars are dumb and if people actually start them then they should but their noses out of other peoples interests.
The existence of such conflicts is stupid because it never has anything to do with the actual interests and opinions. Its nothing more than a clash of egos. People thinking their ideas are the only ones of importance.
Its because of this nonsense that the Sonic fandom is viewed so negatively despite the fact that it is actually an exact mirror reflection of our actual society. This clash of opinions is one of the biggest problems with our culture today. Why do people care if one person thinks differently or likes different things from another person. Its these differences that makes people individuals.

There actually have been quite a few moments in games that sonic either seems shy or that he likes her, in quite a few games he agrees to going on a date with her, and in sonic unleashed he was upset when amy ran away from him, later when he saved her he got shy and ran away, or well spiderman'd away. Quite a few scenes in games he's seen protecting her and such, of course he'd do that for any of his friends but it's a bit different when his other friends are right there and he chooses to protect Amy, you know? I can't really see game Sonic getting a girlfriend anytime soon, he's just way too cocky and focused on other things but maybe when he's older, I could see it happening. Other versions of sonic though, like boom sonic and sonic x sonic, I could see it happening for sure.
mm, but honestly Sega hasn't really delved into Sonic's personality TOO much, like usually with the cutscenes and such its just sonic says something cocky then fights a robot or something, that's what I'm hoping to see in the new movie, is a bit more to sonic's personality and what he's like. In the Sonic boom cartoon it goes pretty well into his personality and such, what he'd do in different situations and how he'd react to different things, but of course that's not game sonic.
I mean even if two people do clash or whatever, that doesn't stop them from liking eachother, even if you have a total different personality to someone else you could still like them, opposites attract. I personally think game sonamy could very much work, but probably when they're older.Β Going off into the comic realm of things, Sonic and Sally are absolute opposites, yet they're married and such, even though I do think sally is very mary-sue like.Β For the boom universe, I think it's a 100% possibility, it'sΒ quite obvious they have feelings for one another, canon sonic though, it can be taken two ways that's for sure, but I think that's how Sega wants to keep it. Little hints for the sonamy fans, but not too much of a hint that sonamy dislikers will get mad about.

I think in the canon games Sega has literally designed it to people can take it either way. Many of those occasions have been optional events or "Maybe there's something there or maybe there isn't" Events. While others such as Amy's intro scene in Sonic Adventure clearly show Sonic simply getting freaked out by Amy.
Also I wouldn't call their personalities "opposite". Its more the problem of Amy being a fanatic. But I mostly nail that down to the fact that she's twelve. So they might get together later in life. It really all depends on how their personalities develop.
And if Sonic can survive Amy's preteen and teen years. I wasn't joking when I said she might end up killing Sonic. She has seemingly come very close to that as well. TBH Amy is probably the biggest threat to Sonic's life at this point. Seeing as she is quite possibly one of (if not the) most powerful main character in the Sonic series.

My critique of these kids: I can tell you actually put effort into them. Their names: I absolutely love. Their outfits: well designed. Notes on their actual designs: I know you had trouble with Kiro, but yes, I agree he looks a little too much like his father. Maybe add some more color like some darker blue fading with the light blue? Kara might need some extra coloring, too, but her spines look great!
Sorry for the random critique, I seriously have this huge thing about fankids. That makes me judge them very carefully. If you don't agree with me, I understand.

Thanks! Well like I said these were just one off random designs, so I don't really care at all for them xD And I'm not a fan at all of the whole multi coloured hair style, like what most oc's have. Because like, sonic and amy are just one colour so I'd rather make their kids one colour too, not add more un-needed colours, you know? cx
These guys also aren't shaded, so that's why its super flat looking.Β
And I know whatcha mean, I'm super picky on sonamy fankids too. But in my opinion these guys look good enough I guess xDΒ
