Description
Firstly I wanted to draw just blinded and vulgar girl - The Fortune warts and all, fickle and flighty. She may bring luck, I showed it as waterfall with a rainbow, but behind she leaves only desert and decay. But as I was ablaze in the process of drawing I've unexpectedly created the main character of the picture - The Wheel of Fortune, rolling after her. Well that's why I had to hide the face of the Fortune under bandage - to make her minor character!Well, anyway, I hope you like the whole picture! Thank you!

Your whole gallery is amazing but I especially love this one! The sky is very, as you say, "fickle" looking indeed!! I think even without a title, people can immediately understand the nature of Fortune

In Medieval art, The wheel of fortune was a recurring symbol, which was almost always depicted as being controlled by a female representatio of Fate. Typically, she sits at the top (not only indicating that she controls human destiny, but that she enjoys a position far above our own), smiling benignly while men rise and fall. With this painting, it's as if Fate herself has been cast down from her power; she must journey- blinded and vulnerable- through the desert of Misfortune. Also, the cracks on the stone wheel seem to further indicate that her powers are irrevocably broken.
