Okay, they cheated... they used a glass window soo of course it would be at the level of what was available as computer graphics for the time..... waaaay better used than Tron or Last Starfighter.

Expect for the scene of Flynn going into and out of the computer world, Tron did not use computer special effects. All the special effects were done traditionally.
