"You know, I was suppose to be the pretty alicorn princess that was popular with public, the one who was down-to-earth, easily approachable, not intimidating, understanding and close to normal ponies. I was suppose to be the media darling and little fillies' favorite!
Yet, when auntie Luna returned, first as a mad alicorn tyrant trying to bring forth eternal night, then as a redeemed awkward royal a thousand years out of the loop, she quickly ended up becoming more popular than I was!
Ponies loved her after she got over her fish-out-of-water situation, throwing night parties for her, joining fan clubs, putting more effort celebrating Nightmare Night than Hearts and Hooves Day, the works! She is dominating every popular opinion polls, rocketing pass my scores, and even a little over Celestia's in one or two occasions! Meanwhile, ponies are forgetting about me, sweeping me under the rug!
Now the only ponies that truly adore me now are my husband, Twilight, and the Crystal ponies! And speaking of Twilight, don't get ME started on how my favorite sister-in-law quickly become a public favorite as well, despite all the initial doubts and flak she received before-hoof!
I don't blame auntie Luna for stealing my thunder - really I don't, because I'm not selfish. I TRY not to feel jealous about it, but... what did I do wrong? I care because I was trained by auntie Celestia to be the 'Perfect Popular Pretty Pony Princess' all my life, with the expectation to live up to it. Now, I'm failing it with flying colours! What did auntie Luna have, or did, that I don't or didn't do?

"Well, Princess, your essentially problem, when you get down to it, is that you're simply fit the 'Perfect Popular Pretty Pony Princess' mold TOO MUCH. It's odd, I know, but from what I can gather, a major part of what a lot of ponies admire about Luna and Twilight IS the fact they're flawed and quirky. It makes them more identifiable with the common pony. They're what many ponies call 'Adorkable'.
In a way, you, and Princess Celestia to an extent-- though she has years of leadership and garnered respect to fall back on --are TOO perfect. You're like that actress, Anne Haythaway*. You're trying so hard to be down to earth and the 'ponies' princess' that the ponies can see that's what you're trying to do. It’s no longer practised perfection that pony society admires, it’s relatability and fallibility they adore.
And top of that: pink is pretty passe.
At least then, Princess, it's not entirely your fault. If anything, you can easily blame it on your Aunt for not realizing the attitudes of the pony public."

Ardashir does raise a fair point; they have an immortal Alicorn who is there to witness the events as it did happen. A walking, breathing leader figure with indefinitely sound mind/memory, solid integrity and trust would be the most reliable primary source in historical research, short of time-travel.
