Description: The Spectacled Caiman is a species of Crocodilian that is native to a large region of Latin America and northern South America. It gets its name from the easily recognizable spectacle-like ridge between its eyes. Like most other crocodilians, the male Spectacled Caimans are larger in size than the females, the maximum size for an adult male Spectacled Caiman is 8.7 feet in length, but the several adult male Spectacled Caimans in the wilds of the Llanos weighed up to 128 pounds. Though it is mainly a nocturnal hunter, the diet of the Spectacled Caiman varies heavily during the season, during the dry season, these Caimans feed mainly on the various fish species that thrive in its freshwater environment, and during the wet season, snails and freshwater crabs become the primary diet. Younger and smaller Spectacled Caimans feed more on insects and freshwater shrimp before moving on to bigger prey when they get larger, including most small animals that can fit into its jaws. Gastroliths have even been found in the stomachs of Spectacled Caimans, and many of these Caimans have been observed consuming plant matter like grass and seeds, we now believe that the Spectacled Caiman is a generalist species, being able to adapt to a wide variety of prey depending on the conditions of its surroundings.

Personal Thoughts: I remember first hearing about this species in the Wii game Endless Ocean: Blue World, so it's really cool to have this species in Zoo Tycoon 2. I do like how this one uses the animations and AI from the Crocodylia mod, even requiring it in order to run properly. This Spectacled Caiman has no bugs or glitches, the modeling and textures are accurate compared to the real animal, and it can breed properly in the game. I highly recommend checking this mod out.
