Chapter 2

The crops

As i was wandering on the beautyfull countryside, about 52 miled out of the city, with my airboard tucked neatly under my arm, i started getting hungry. Young travelers hwo dine on hardworking farmers crops are not that unusual so I figured I could go into hiding inside one of the many fields. I turned my head to see if there were any bypassers that would notice me, and since the whole land seemed dead in population I jumped on my airboard and approached a sunflower field that would hide me during the day. I slowly drifted trough the field when suddenly somebody exclaimed:
- What are you doing!?
I accidentally jumped backwards, startled at the sound of this voice, only to find that i was laying on top of it.
- What are YOU doing you idiot!? You've could've gotten me killed!
I got off the person and saw a young girl, with short blond hair.We looked agitated at each other and, to her, I was clearly irritated. not even half a moment later, her mouth turned into a short line on her face and she started laughing. Clearly stunned and confused i started laughing aswell. Though i failed to see the funny part of it, but it seemed that when she laughed she spread that joy around her, making every person around her at least half as happy as her.
after, what seemed, an hour of laughing, stopping, and laughing again, we finally stopped. wiping the tears of joy that had come with it.
- Feel like introducing your self? she asked me with a smile on her face, i also noticed she had a kind of wierd accent, wherefrom i couldn't decide, maybe irish, or scottish?
- Yeah, sorry. (I was still a little gigglish from before, so i was laughing the hwole way trough the answer) Hi, I'm Ambre, currently running away from home. I said it in an kind of sarcastic tone.
I reached my hand to her and we shaked, during that she responded;
- I'm Daphne, me and my big brother are also runaways, haha! He's gone fishing some fish for us. 'Cus we were getting pretty hungry and my foot's injured.
- Wait, there's a fishing hole around here!?
- Uh, no. A lake, with artificial fish. they are much easier to catch.
I sat stunned, I had never seen a fishing hole in the whole of my 14 years! Let alone a Lake!
- Are you OK? she asked laughing.
- Can we go to the lake!? I asked intensly.
- Hey, weren't you listening? My foot's sprained!
It sounded as if she was "stupifying" me in some sort of way
- Yeah, and I've got an airboard!
And I returned the favour.
