Things are getting a little hot this week on Cooking with Angela... I visited my parents in Mississippi for Father's Day, and thought it would be a fun treat to make dad dinner And since Father's Day fell only a day before the official start of summer, I thought what better to do than a cook-out! Of course my thought process fell more on the 'omg that is going to be so cool for pics!' side and less on the 'omg it's going to be burning up outside to start with, then I'm going to have to stand next to a hot grill' side So needless to say, I was sweating like mad with a heat index of reportedly 105 in the area, a burning hot grill in front of me, and my hair still wet from swimming... And did I mention I've never used a real grill before? It was pretty fun, but definitely not suited to awesome pictures... I still had fun with it, especially in the wardrobe department! I meant for it to come across as cute retro pin-up but it wound up looking a bit more sexy modern in a lot of the shots, whoops... It's much easier to have that hard, emotionless look on your face than a fun flirty pin-up smile when you're boiling hot and trying to focus on cooking something you've never done before The food turned out excellent though, there was so much though, I made way too much even with 5 people there to feed (or really 6, let's face it my brother is a 6'6" beast and eats what 2 normal people would ) but at least everyone got to take home leftovers And it was fabulous that my whole family got together for a home cooked meal too
