My current lazy concept for Dark Astro. The main differences between Astro and Dark Astro are that Dark Astro has yellow eyes and Astro has brown eyes, and Dark Astro has a red core, while Astro has a blue core. I was originally going to give him red eyes to match the core, but I wanted a pretty subtle change between Dark and regular Astro, and yellow is less noticable than red.Astro Boy (C) Osamu Tezuka

What about making an Atlas character instead of a dark Astro? Atlas was originally supposed to be like Astro, except he had the "Omega Factor". When Atlas was a kid robot, he looked a lot like Astro except for different hair colour and skin tone. He had a lot of the same powers as Astro as well- including flying with rockets in his feet, butt guns, lasers in his fingers etc.
