You need to extract the files and put them in your gimp brushes folder. Than refresh your brushes.

to alter the size, there's a scale right below where you choose the brushes..just move it back and forth until you get the desired effect.

you go to Paintbrush>brushes>Click on the little circle>and there are all your brushes

You have to download them to the brushes folder in the GIMP system. Go to My Computer -> System Folders -> GIMP 2.6 -> brushes. Save them there, then when you get to GIMP, if you are just opening it up, they should be there, but if you had it open, you should go to Paintbrush, click the Select Brushes dialog, click the button down at the bottom with the paintbrush, click refresh, and viola!

as said below just click on the brush you will like to use and drag the scale up or down...preferably down though

To alter the size, there's a scale you can move to get the brushes smaller / bigger.
