My half of a trade between myself and * knuxfistI'm not really sure what I think about this piece. I really like the way Blaze and the SA shading turned out, but I'm dissapointed I wasn't able to do some sort of firey effect in it. Fire just doesn't look right in SA style, not right at all. =\

Nice job, the shading's turned out well. If you wanted to do fire, I'd say maybe do them very cartoonlike, then add the SA shading to them. I can imagine something in my head, which I'll try to describe (although I'll probably fail! 
The fire's around the top of the hand, surrounding all the fingers and part of the hands. It's got a thick black outline around it, and there is a distinct gap between the fire and the hand. It's bold and cartoonlike, with large-ish curly spouts of fire, rather than small jaggednesses of fire. And it's coloured red on the outside, yellow on the inside, with a distinct difference between the red and yellow (i.e. no blending). The fire is shaded as just like the character, as if it were solid.
I can see it in my head right now, and if you want I can maybe give demonstrating it a go, because I'm sure my description is awful! I think the key is probably to draw it cartoonlike, separated from the character and SA shade it as if it were solid. I hope that's helped
