Depends if you're still thinking of them as Scott's interpretation. The purpose of them in FNaWTF is that they're just robots at some point that started killing. There are no "missing children", no "purple guy" incidents. You'd have to look at this as an entirely different story.

Think how comics have so many iterations of their franchises. Every TMNT series had their own interpretation. Every Power Rangers has their own interpretation. X-Men. The Spider-Man series. Ultimate Spider-Man is completely different from Amazing Spider-Man.

The story (still a non-sequitur) unravels the further it goes.
