Description
Shadow Onikawa is the result of scientists from all over the world coming together to create an anti-war trump card. Fortunately (or unfortunately), Shadow is a weapon with enough power to nuke a planet. Deep inside of him, he wonders why he was created and wants to live the life of a wanderer, but his Phase Spirit pushes him to quench a nearly uncontrollable desire for blood and violence. Due to an event that happened about 50 years prior to his first encounter with Banzo, his memories were a bit hazy. Once he remembers what happened prior to his sealing, Shadow helps his sister Tressa begin a genocidal campaign that became known as the Darkened Mirror Incident. At first, he was completely in favor of the destruction of man but eventually turned against the idea when he saw how his sister became consumed with revenge and remembered the reason they were created in the first place. Batting against Banzo caused them to exchange ideas and give Shadow the determination to resist the urges of the Annihilation phase. After they joined the Legacy, the two began working hard to fix everything they messed up.
While Shadow tends to have a calm demeanor, in battle, he can become a feral beast when he unlocks his Phase Power. He is a strong willed fighter who will do everything he can to make sure that the team comes back in one piece, even if it means getting his body destroyed in the process. He uses intense pre-battle psychological warfare to gain an advantage against opponents before the battle even begins. Because of that, he is considered one of the strongest weapons that the Legacy has in protecting the world, even if it means dealing with his near constant slasher smiles.
Phase Power: Shadow holds within him half of the Spirit of Annihilation, possibly the most powerful of the 8 Phase Spirits. Using its power, it boosts his already high Chaos Energy levels to seemingly infinite levels and causes his strength to grow the angrier he becomes. It’s possible for him to turn into a near literal anger golem. However, the drawback is severe; when he leaves the Phase State, his energy is drained to near empty and he is left in a helpless state. This is best used for him as a last resort and nothing more; if goaded into using the Spirit’s power, he will become a heavy burden for his team. The Spirit is not as actively antagonistic and malevolent towards Shadow as it is to Tressa, but even so, it is a difficult spirit to bridle and use.
Happy Halloween everyone! I hope Shadow catches on with people the same way Tressa has!
