True Love... a term so overused that many don't even know the true meaning. In fact, so many have a different idea of what it entails, it can mean different things coming from different people. This is my definition, what I refer to when I say True Love.

True love is the state in which your soul realizes its counterpart, the other side it was meant to find despite all obstacles. Your desire for this other half is far more than sexual and physical, though the effects are bodily as well. Love effects you body, mind and soul; all dimensions are enveloped. It makes you want to become a better person not only for yourself, but for the one you love. You're willing to put all your own comforts aside, sacrifice whatever necessary for them.

It is the point where you stop believing you love them more or less.... but when you each love each other equally. That is the major turning point, a full connection with each other, when you reach the same level and merge into a single essence. So while you're willing to sacrifice anything for them, they're reluctant to let you sacrifice and, indeed, are willing to give anything for you.

The mind will become seemingly obsessed with this person. They'll constantly interrupt your thoughts, and the interruption is always followed by a smile. The mere image of them, a slightest thought is enough to send static energy through your core. Much of this may sound corny... but true love is all about being corny and meaning it. You care not what others think about your relationship, as long as you have that person and are able to convey your love for them.

Sexual desires are of course present still, but they're fueled by the desire to be nearer to your beloved, to pleasure them rather than yourself, to bond with them, to express your feelings without words. You want not to get in their pants, but to get into their soul, to absorb them, to connect with them.

You feel complete only when you're with them, feeling almost lost when seperated. However long you're seperated though, you know you'll wait for the time when you can be reunited. You look forward to every chance you have to speak with this person, touch them, see them, even think about them. You become second in your eyes, and they become second in theirs.

True Love is confusion about almost all your feelings, except the fact that you love this counterpart. Nothing has to be clear except a straight forward desire for being with this individual. Your trust will be absolute and your jealousy swallowed. You trust this person enough to let them live their own life, and vice versa. Your belief in your love will be so complete, you won't care who they talk to or where they go, because you know they're yours and only yours.

When considering how long you'll be with this soul mate, only one things pops to mind: Eternity. You're certain you've found what you'll never let go, never even dream of releasing. True love is having your soul fused with another, and loving every bit of it, feeling no regret, only contentedness.

Most importantly though, no definition can be given. This is a state, emotion, feeling, essence, mystery, desire that is too pure to be put into exactness and clarity.
