Description Hello everyone. Tried a little different approach to my painting on a creature I did recently in the sketchbook with some simple color variations. Let me know what you think.

Awesome design.

Love those little frills/gills on its head. You did a great gob on the shadows and shades.

I love seeing different colors for the same creature.
That blue one has the most distinctive color design. I love the two last ones though. The blue and red.

I would love to see more of these.

Hey, glad you like it. I plan to do something similar soon, but with a better pose and angle. But first... I need to wake up!

dang man, you and your crazy translucent, subsurface scattering crazieness. you always tend to achieve the most narliest textures. good job as always.

Thanks man, the funny thing with the SSS is that I figured it out a lot better after doing it in 3D. Although I don't feel like this is the best implementation because I was working from color swatches instead of starting from a greyscale as I usually do.

this is very nice....i love each color variation
hard to choose a fave....but i would say i like the far right one the best, but onlybecause i like the idea of poisonous insect being bright color as a warning......
but im not sure if that is what you had in mind with the variations, but great job on them, your work is so under appreciated....ill do a feature on you in the near future if you dont mind

Thanks, it wasn't particularly meant to me poisonous, if so, I might go the route of a poisonous tree frog or a ladybug, which sports toxic blood. Going for a sort of cave dwelling worm which might feed on algae or something. Pigmentation might suggest they go outside a bit more, at least for these guys.

And yeah, it you'd like to do a feature that'd be really cool. Thanks!
