I'm really amazed how this is so much more than meets the eye. The centaur isn't really a centaur, and those mermaids on second glance are more like some kind of slug hybrid :-P Incredible work, wonderful detail!

Amazing, the very bulky, brutal forms on the centaur really show power and energy. I also like the colours used for the creatures in the water.
Although my eye does follow up through the higher creature, through the centaur's spear and head then end up on the high contrast cliff behind him. I'm not sure this is what you intended!

very nice. love the dynamism in this piece...i think the only thing thats bothering me is that the sharp background shapes are competing with him on the left. maybe some soft edges might help. otherwise amazing piece. love the colors on the zombie swamp thingies.

Hey, thanks for the input! The background is always a bit of a crutch for me, but I'm pretty happy with it. I don't mind the idea of softening it, I mostly have it sharp because my brushwork was too sloppy and had to clean it up. In the end though, I thinks it works well in balancing the piece, which is what was killing me the entire time.
