Planet of origin: Veldornsk
Niche: Top order persistence predator
Description: A top order carnivore that has converged on a niche similar to that of earths long extinct theropods, The Quadungitops was an animal that had no equal on its home planet of Veldornsk, and whilst the same may not be true for Uthea 12-b, it still remains a hardy and ferocious predator in this new context. Inhabiting the warm grasslands of Uthea the Quadungitops hunt most mid-large sized creatures via ambushing them from cover, if unsuccessful they can pursue prey for relatively long distances and tire them out with a combination of long, slim legs and a eerily theropod esq respiratory system. Once it is within range to attack its strange mandible like structures grip onto its desired prey, first by puncturing vital areas of its target such as arteries and the windpipe, and then pulling flesh closer to true mouth so it can consume. These mandibles are infact highly specialized "fingers" that over millions of years moved over to the sides of the head to aid in hunting. Quadungitops are born without a gender but may either become male or female once they start to reach sexual maturity which they often reach after 3-4 years. Males attain a emerald green color with a pale yellow underbelly whilst females are a duller sage green with a beige underbelly and coincidentally also have greenish blood due to them having chlorocruorin as the main compound in their blood.
