I can't really do a character description without spilling the plot all over the floor, so I'll just say a few words here.

ESPER stands for Extra-sensory-perception-user. So these are the sister-units of the test Gundam pilots NeoEarth made. Using a complex grid of super computers, the random mutations for ESP in the experiment population are ran through trillions of simulations to speed up "evolution". The computer calculates the most effective configurations for the ESP-relevent genes and create artificial embryos out of the calculations. As it turns out, the homozygous X configuration works the best, so all the clones produced are girls. These things are then physiologically enhanced to have higher metabolism, chemmical reaction rates, neuron firings, sharper reflexes, and all that other stuff associated with super-soldiers. Because of all the alternations to their physiology, most of the clones' life-span won't go past 20.
