She is ProjectZephyr's Protagonist. A string unfortunate events lead her to become the, at first unwilling, pilot of the X-001. Unfortunately, her complete lack of experience and knowledge of Mobile Weapons makes her a poor pilot at best. Rebecca's lack of skills is worsened by a multitude of strange glitches in the X-001's operating system, that has all but crippled the Mobile Suit.

Some of you will probably notice that Rebecca's flight suit is heavily influenced by the designs of Macross Frontier. I actually wanted a design where people would look and say: hey, that looks kinda familliar. I also wanted to break the convention in most, if not all, Gundam series, where the main character is some kind of Gundam-driving prodigy, seriously, what's up with that? Finally, what's up with her left arm?
