I got this idea after watching "Forbidden Planet" the other night. Basically, Robby the Robot from "Forbidden Planet" fighting the Daleks!!And if you don't know what "Forbidden Planet" is, watch this video: [link] And I mean now.
Sorry about crappy explosions...since this is lineart it's meant to be the frame that someone else uses to add colour, backround, and details such as explosions, so I didn't draw those. Just sorta pencilled them in.

The Daleks themselves are my own design; they're something of a mash between the Pertwee Daleks and the ones from the New Series, along with some Tom Baker era Dalek thrown in.
They're blue too, btw.

I finally saw that movie at Comic Con last summer. Before that I only knew Robby from an episode of Lost in Space. He tried to control the Robot on that show, B-9.

Yes, Robby's appearance on "Lost in Space" was pretty cool. I'm glad you finally got a chance to see "Forbidden Planet!" It's definitely one of the coolest sci-fi movies EVER made.

I wouldn't say cool, but I like the message, and for their technology back then they did the weird beast thing pretty well. Some of my nit-picking nerd friends would find so many things wrong with it, including all the animals from Earth.

As for the Earth animals, I think it was pretty well established that, just like Dr. Morbeus and his daughter, the animals were brought from Earth.

I think I was the youngest person willingly watching it at Comic Con last year. I reserve the term "cool" for stuff that is actually cool or hip. Like Doctor Who and PokΓ©mon. I don't know about you but I don't like using the same adjective for everything I like.

cool picture, although i havent seen forbidden planet, i am familiar with Robby. personaly, i think that the daleks would win, mainly cause they are so damn powerfull. the thing about the daleks is they are actually terrifying in a way. they are so scary because a little thing in the back of your head tells you 'they couldent possibly be that dangerous, they look so stupid!' and then the person next to you drops dead. they are scary in the same way that clowns in horror movies are, but in a daleky way.
but after seeing the film i may change my oppinion to sway towards robby.
and as for the picture, i love the pose Robby is pulling! it looks so active and powerfull, man are those daleks 'buying the farm'

That's a very good point about the Daleks; I loved the scene in "Dalek," when the Dalek has just freed himself, and the guy comes over to restrain him again. The Dalek raises his "plunger," and the guy scoffs, saying "Whatchya gonna do, sucker me to death??" He stops laughing when that exactly happens.
Robby was pretty powerful; this picture is basically that the Daleks underestimated him as well, and it's somewhat of an ambush. Daleks work in squads of three, and Robby has just surprised this squad. The Dalek closest in the foreground is still turning in surprise as the guy next to him just "bought it," and is probably shocked at the Dalek Robby is lifting into the air...probably going to hurl at him.
I'm glad you liked the pose!! It was tricky to find one that would still be believable given his somewhat limited range of motion, but still look "active and powerful," like you said. Thanks for the great in-depth comment!!
