Description
I'm particularly proud of this one!! When designing this one, I tried to keep the idea "rolling concentration camp" in my mind. Listening to the Dalek Theme from the Doctor Who Original Television Soundtrack helped, too!!Unlike my Soviet Cyberman, this one has more of a backstory. After the events of the Third Series Doctor Who episode "Daleks in Manhattan," the people of Hooverville took the destroyed husks of Daleks Thay and Jast, along with the human Dalek blasters, and buried them deep inside the sewers. They were forgotten about.
However, the "failed" Dalek embryos created by the Cult of Skaro were not so "failed" after all; they were able to grow into adult Daleks, and using the technology available to them, built new Dalek suits using the husks of Thay and Jast as templates. It took many years to rebuild, but they were able to make more Dalek creatures and more suits.
After this time of building their forces, the Daleks were prepared to go out and conquer Earth. Before they did so, however, World War II broke out. The Daleks realized that their mission of conquest would be made much easier if they allied themselves with the Nazis, who had a similar goal of world conquest. After helping the Nazis take over the world, they would turn on their German allies and take the conquered world from them.
I had fun putting the Nazi signage on the Dalek; all the symbols were inspired by what I've seen on Nazi uniforms and helmets. The lettering on its base says "Caution - Jet Blast," as these Daleks are able to fly (unlike my steampunk version). The rear propeller, used to push it forward through the air while airborne, has the "cross" of the Nazi Air Force on it.
Oh, and the speech balloon reads, "Exterminate those who oppose the will of Hitler." In German, of course, written in the "Dalek font" that I downloaded from 1001fonts.com.
Also, just to be clear, I DO NOT support the Nazis OR their evil ideals.
Daleks are copyright of the Terry Nation Estate.

Amazing. So what've you got next up your sleeve? A Dalek from the stone ages built from rocks and sticks? Or maybe something medieval with a built-in lance or the like?
I love the concept behind this one too, since the Daleks were originally supposed to be like the Nazi's. It would be ironic if we got it from them and they got it from us. Small universe and all.

Well, believe it or not, I sketched a Dalek from Ancient Rome not too long ago...now I might just finish it.
I think in some non-canon Doctor Who story, someone mentions the Daleks visiting Ancient Rome and infusing the "Dalek Factor" into humans...whatever that means.

Daleks have always like what they see in humans, and tried various methods to splice/copy/absorb such things into themselves, usually with results similar to Evolution. Silly Daleks.
Ancient Rome... oh that's classic. I can imagine it now, it's like a metal pillar with a gladius and a scoop for arms, and maybe some roman-esque helmet for the head.
I still say sticks and stones Cave Dalek would be funny as hell. Trying to exterminate the Dinosaurs or something. Then maybe glancing up and seeing a huge meteor and realizing "oh... well that works too..."

Yes...as much as the Daleks always try to exterminate us, I think they really like us in an odd way...
Although I retro-tech my Daleks, I always like to still keep them on the cutting edge of the technology of their time. My Ancient Rome Dalek has a lightweight wooden frame, with two chariot-style wheels in the back (similar to my Art Deco Dalek), and one wheel in the front, which is covered by a big Roman-style long shield in front. In place of the Death Ray, the Roman Daleks have a multi-barrelled crossbow shooter (similar to that seen in "Gladiator"), which a mechanism that allows the arm to retract and "reload" itself with another cartridge of arrows once it has fired all that it has. The Dalek creature is visible behind a mesh screen for it's own protection, and the head is a simple dome with a large pole coming up from it, holding the Eagle-and-Wreath crest of the Roman legions.
...damn, I really should upload that...

*nod* Definently. Out of all the races in the galaxy, I think we're their favorites.
Ah, crossbows, should've known. Never trust a Dalek to get down and dirty in hand-to-hand combat, always gotta be half a mile away. Cowardly little critters.
I look forward to it. I'm already trying to color your Nazi Dalek so I can add it to my evolutionary/technological timescale. Sec would look good as a Nazi.

Woah! Nice work! That is simply amazing! Great back story on it as well. Nazis were terrible. It's really also sad to think that there are still people who think that way out there. It's all because of Darwin If it weren't for his whole 'natural selection' shpeal (and yeah, I know that I spelled that wrong-- anyone know how to spell that one?), this would not be an issue
Yeah... Darwin was an integral part in a lot of pain, for many many people, even different countries. It's pretty sad. He must feel so very guilty.

Thanks a lot, bro!!
And YES, that's a VERY good point about Darwin!! His unproven theory has caused more trouble for the human race than people realize, all in the name of holding onto some origin idea that isn't dependant on a Supreme Being.
The ridiculous thing is that Darwin himself said in his writings that if certain things were found out (things that we have discovered), it would disprove his theories. I can't remember what they were...but it's just insane how people still hold on to his crazy theory so fervently...it's like, is it THAT horrible to you to think that you were created by a Superior Being, destined for a high and dignified purpose?? Personally, I much prefer that to the impossible indignity of being decended from APES.

((actually, Darwin himself was a devout Christian and never actually stated that people evolved from apes. That idea was adopted later, but persons who had their own interpretations of his scientific studies. Although the method of thinking became labeled as 'Darwinianism', he himself never said he believed that persons evolved from monkeys. Anyways, just clarifying incase you didn't know that point))

Thank you...and you'll notice that I never said that Darwin made the point about "apes into humans." All I ever said about Darwin was how he is the one who originated the theory.

Yeah, free will and all that. The 'theory' of evolution isn't even a theory in the scientific sense, even if they say it is. It's an unproven hypothesis.
One of the things Darwin said that would disprove evolution is the fossil record. There has never been found, and never will be found, a transitional fossil-- a genuine one. The cavemen are just normal people for goodness sake! They just have an overdeveloped brow There are still 'cavemen' walking around! Heck, I'm probably one of them
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Promus-Kaa In reply to RedRodent [2007-05-22 22:32:59 +0000 UTC]
LOL Yes, the over-extended brow is a result of severe Vitamin D deficiency, unless I'm mistaken. They found a whole lot of them on some island somewhere not too long ago...not like you'd ever hear about it, but it DID happen.
You're totally right about the fossil record, although the particular instance I was referring to had something to do with genetics!! But getting back to the fossil record...if you think about it, there should actually be MORE fossils of the "halfway" animals than the "finished" results; since it supposedly takes thousands upon thousands of generations for the minute adaptations to occur (adaptation, although a biological fact, does not allow an animal to adapt to the point where it's something totally different altogether), and there's only a few generations of the "completed" animals, fossils of the "completed" animals should be the ones that are hard to find!! Yet the fossil record still hasn't turned up a SINGLE lizard-fish, or a lizard-bird (Archeraporyx or however it's spelled being fully a bird).
Like the Bible says, nature cries out with a loud voice, "THERE IS A GOD!!" And I'm very happy that there is.

Promus-Kaa In reply to RedRodent [2007-05-23 19:56:19 +0000 UTC]
Wow, I never heard that one!! Pretty cool, too.
What I don't get is the sedimentary layer that was supposedly set down over millions of years...like, two feet of rock is supposed to represent the passage of like what, several millions of years?? And then they "date" the sediment by what fossils they find in them. But if there's like BILLIONS of years, and two feet equals like two million years...does that mean the Earth was like, half the size it was now?? And where did the other sediment come from??
I've pretty much come to the conclusion that evolutionists themselves KNOW that what they believe is baloney; I mean, they do have SOME sort of brain in their heads. They just don't want to accept that there's a God that they will have to face some day in the Final Judgement, and account for all their actions. Which seems pretty spineless, to me...
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
RedRodent In reply to Promus-Kaa [2007-05-23 22:39:05 +0000 UTC]
You're pretty much right. It takes faith to believe in anything, and evolutionists are just exercising their faith in the wrong realm. That's why it's often hard to convince someone like that they are wrong.
Actually, that whole sedimentary thing is bologna too. Do a little research on Mt. St. Helen. That volcano exploded, and in a matter of minutes, 'layers' were created that, if seen by an evolutionist later, and having not know about the volcano exploding, they would have thought it took millions of years, just like everything else. You know, trees were caught up in that thing, and were standing straight up through the strata they use to date things. That just totally refutes their theory in my opinion.

Yep, they make awesome bad guys. I'm thinking about writing a book in which two sisters end up going back to 1940's Germany and get chased around by Nazis and stuff. 'Course, there'll have to be something heroic for them to do... Tell me, you're the history buff: when was the Battle of Normandy?
