Description
Tomorrow is December 1st. Think AIDS Awareness. My school, STLCC @ Florissant Valley, is hosting 4 pieces of the National AIDS Quilt. On the walls around the quilts will be another "quilt" of sorts. Each student is encouraged to make 3 6" squares that relate to AIDS Awareness, to be pinned to the muslin that will run around the room. After the event some of the squares might be auctioned off to benefit AIDS research.
This is one of my squares. I captured the image on a flatbed scanner, then did some post work on PSCS- like masking out and colorizing the ribbon, I only could find pink ribbon in my house, how lame!

December is AIDS Awareness month, and I was wondering if you might allow me to use this in a news article in honor of this event. I'm gathering permission in advance, the news article will
probably run the first week of December. Hope to hear from you soon with an answer.

Hi In March, my school will be holding Super Charity Week to raise money to donate to the Stephen Lewis Foundation to help ease the pain of people in Africa who are infected with HIV and AIDS. I was wondering if you'll give me permission to use this particular work as a poster? It'll be greatly appreciated

That sounds like a fair use. Unfortunately, I have misplaced my hi-res files for the works from the period in which this piece was created, but if you can make due with the FV on here you are welcome.

that's such a good idea! I never would have thought of scanning the actual objects, i probably would have taken a picture, and then drawn it, and then scanned that your way was just as creative and much faster...i'll have to think on that

That is amazing hun!
I might sound crazy but I believe down in my heart that there is a cure for HIV/AIDS. Though they won't release it. <_< But until that day when they release it I am still going to spread the word that HIV/AIDS is still out there and anyone can get it. Awareness is the only cure until there actually is one.
This photo or whatever you did is just absolutely amazing. I am adding it to my favorites hun. Great job!

amazing work, nice concept.. i love how the ribbon's like in the bottom.. only little thing to complain about is the dirt on the scissors which is bit of a shame, but far from that lovely piece

i think this is my Fav in the series... great composition.... and the stark black background works better than the BG with all the ribbon--->has an easier point of focus... and a easier read meaning---

Woah... this is pretty powerful (I also like number 3). That's quite a potent image, almost like cutting the lifeline. Well done. Really. Serious and impressive.
