Game: Ori and the Blind ForestCharacter changed: Ori (main character)
Method: Ori is exhausted from defeat via the purple blob things (idk the name for them "<.>)
Description: This piece is for TF-TG Contest's "Game Over" Contest. (See end for link to details).
More or less, provided I interpreted the meaning of 'transformation' in the rules correctly, this is Ori from 'Ori and the Blind Forest'. Defeated during the earlier, greener water levels, by one of those purply, yellowy blob things. In the game you more or less disappear and start from a previous save, but for sake of being able to get this drawing out of it; lets say Ori is weakened to the point of not being able to continue
. Since I enjoy cute things and anthropomorphissing (just made that word up) things I deem to be cute, Ori's defeat has lead to him/her becoming more human like(ish). Ori's gender is unconfirmed as the creators of the game wanted to leave that the players discretion, and how they bonded with the character. Personally, I felt Ori to me was male, but at the same time is easily cute enough to be passed off a being female. I tried being gender neutral in my interpretation of the character, but ultimately it's leaned more towards female. I would like to leave it, again, up to the discretion of the viewer on Ori's gender in this drawing and up to your imagination :3 Naturally I enjoy bringing NSFW content to otherwise SFW content, but for this I reserved a more soft NSFW theme as I find cuteness levels tend to drop the more NSFW I go (as much as I try to help it).Link to Contest Journal here: tf-tg-contests.deviantart.com/…

I never played Ori and even with the description Im not entirely sure what your piece is showing. My biggest issue is as far as I can tell this isn't 'game over' for Ori, just something they have to cry about and then get back in. The piece visually is nice but I think my unfamiliarity may have hampered my enjoyment

This is a cute drawing! Based on your description, your intention was to draw a cute anthropomorphized version of Ori and you've definitely succeeded! The linework is especially strong: simple and to the point. While this piece is beautiful, I don't feel it conveys either "TF" or "Game Over" very well. Ori's expression could be anything from tiredness to sadness... even boredom! I wish your piece better fit the contest's theme, but it's still wonderful! Keep up the good work!

This was quite beautiful, the poses and background heavily stylized and I liked Ori's expression. My only critique for your art would be that there were some white stubby bits sticking out from your character lines and a few of the hand lines made a few of Ori's fingers stubby. The main issue with your entry is that the game over method was not developed. Even you kind of just go, "Well it might be this thing that kind of makes it a game over even though it doesn't really make sense. So while I love the art, you lost a lot of points for originality and theme. If you came at it with a more solid idea then I would have given you more points, but thanks for entering and I like your style.

This is super adorable! The pose and perspective are excellent, and you can really tell that look of defeat on it's face. And the lighting, oh my the lighting! It just positively glows with all the soft lighting and sets an incredibly mood for the piece.
Even though I've also entered I'm really rooting for you to be one of the winning pieces!

This is really cute! (plus, dat ass). I can't say I know where this is from but I like the art work. I like that you went more obscure than just doing Mario or something. (Maybe I should have done that). I like how you're leaving the gender to the imagination... but like you I want it to be a girl! lol
