Description
WHOOP WHOOPI really REALLY am so pleased with this. I made the sketch the other day and decided to paint it today. I used several references [Getty and stuff] for shadow/skin tones but the face structure and pretty much everything else is just from my head. Except for the BG which is based on stock by ~grace-stock , which I used mainly for light ref, but I feel the need to credit anyway cause it was such a great picture I used.
5 hours, PSCS, 9x10 300 DPI
[also sorry if you see this twice, dA's being nice right now

It's an incredible piece! <3
I love the shading - the skin tones look very natural. My favourite part is the shading around the nose and chin.

Thank you so much This whole comment made me smile SO MUCH. And I have been trying so hard to work exactly on things I've had issues with in the past [skintones in painting is one ... I tend to use ONE palette ranging in the spectrum of the same color instead of many that you know COMPROMISE THE HUMAN FACE] and I'm really glad practicing is paying off.

Thank you so much!! Like I said on another comment to this, I've been practicing skin tones a lot lately by trying to see how many basically work on the human face. It used to stump me how there were oranges, greys, purples, reds, pinks ... but I think I'm realizing how to map out the colors of skin believably when I'm going for realism.
