It is???? Never knew. Do you happen to have a link available, please? And I don't mean the library (GIMP for Win already works with this) but the window decoration stuff. And you are very welcome

properlypurple In reply to pitkon [2011-05-10 08:18:02 +0000 UTC]

oh you meant that. I dont think someone will want to run metacity on Windows. Though there was an effort to port gnome to cygwin earlier, but it's incative since 2007(i guess).

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pitkon In reply to properlypurple [2011-05-10 08:21:52 +0000 UTC]

You are right about cygwin. And KDE was ported to Windows some time ago, but no GTK windows decorations. It would solve many styler issues, since GTK themes combined with other nix elements change on the fly with each style switch and don't need looking around for fitting styler skins. As a Blackbox for Windows author, I am still looking forward to that... Thanks for clarifying things

properlypurple In reply to pitkon [2011-05-10 13:29:29 +0000 UTC]

i'm pretty sure about metacity and/or mutter not being ported to windows. Though i'm quite sure someone cud write a widow decorator similar to True Transparency(i think that was the name) that can use metacity themes. Just thinking..
N yea, good luck with blackbox..

utoh-ohno In reply to properlypurple [2011-05-08 06:11:08 +0000 UTC]

Sorry to be a bother: I followed your installation instructions, but I can't seem to get the theme to apply to the shell itself. I still have the solid black bar at the top, and my "name menu," is still the black speech bubble. I have the Hope folder in both directories and changed the permissions on both to 755. I have Hope selected under "Interface," and "Windows," in the tweak tool, and I've set the gconf key /desktop/gnome/shell/windows/theme to "Hope" without the quotes. I also rebooted after reloading the shell didn't change anything. Is there something else I need to do?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

properlypurple In reply to utoh-ohno [2011-05-08 17:02:14 +0000 UTC]

Actually the theme applies to the widgets and window border only, the shell theme isn't included in the package as it's not complete. I'll release it very soon.. Hope that helps.

utoh-ohno In reply to properlypurple [2011-05-08 22:09:37 +0000 UTC]

Oh! Well that explains it. Sorry, I've only been using the Gnome3/shell for a few days, so I'm still figuring out how it all goes together. I'll keep an eye out for the shell theme. Thanks!

properlypurple In reply to utoh-ohno [2011-05-09 03:12:54 +0000 UTC]

No problem. n yea i'll complete the shell theme when i reach home.

Some font colours are displayed wrong. For example, nautilus side bar (folder list, disks, etc) displays light gray fonts, and they are ilegible. Tested it on Arch
By the way, I loved the libght blue/ dark combination!
