Description
saccharine smokewafting down from the half-lit
joint in the sky;
I dream of half-baked
summers
and lazy hazy dopey
days,
with pink eyes
rimmed by matted
black eyelashes,
blinking languidly
against harmless
sunbeams.
earthlings dance
slowly in the haze
of sweet fog,
bare feet embracing
the dirt like
the mother she once was;
like the bornagain
child.
the earth beckons us down;
summer shakes her unshaven
body (her rings
glint silver),
waiting for life on
the burning
fields of the leafiest,
plentiful
grass.
(I met summer and
I met you;
now I see the Earth
through smoky
shades
of organic blinds)
