This a pair of hooves i have been scavaging around to make. everything is made from scrap wood, old pair of shoes that were a dollar at RiteAid. I put plaster and sanded it, painted it and spray adhesive glue on a fabric that was a brown shirt....but I have to really finished this was brown and white fur at instead of it being painted.

this is for a Part Human Partly horse type costume I wanted to try and make. Its orginally a unicorn related costumery LOL

I have a question about these! You say you made another pair that was lighter, and suggested adding more ankle support. How would you go about either of these things? I'm trying to build my own pair using you tutorial, and I would love to know how to make it work well since I'll be wearing the shoes for most of a day.

The lighter version ended up being a wood shaped into hooves. I added layers of silicon sealant over and smoothed it out and a layer of bondo and sanded it out and painted. Because of the wood base. I added horse shoes under it. But it made it heavy a bit.
For more ankle support I would recommend heeled boots that go up over the ankles. And used those as your show base.
I don't recommend the converse I was using here. It worked well for short period amount of time. But the shape was forced. So if you have heeled shoes with the arch fashion already. I suggest that. You can create a brace that goes up to the knees also.

Question- How comfortably did your toes sit in them? I'm just curious because thiis is probably the best type of faun shoes I have seen;IΒ mean, they're not heels or stilts and it is pretty cool.
PS How dd you ge the shoes to stay on? Did you screw them on, or use something else?

I screwed them on as well as put an adhesive on. It was comfortable but realized it was heavy and didn't last for about 3 hours. I'd reccomend putting a more support around the ankle as that was the reason I tired out. It was easy enough to make but didn't last very long since it was only for a Halloween bash

How well can you stand on those? Do you need something to support you so you don't fall backwards?

It was a chaulk type of adhesive that was sanded later.

I would love to have a pair of these! at least I would want the wooden portion of it so I could tweak it to make wolf paws. I'd obviously pay for it

theres a mardi gras that gonna happenm later on this month. its so cool cause you can dress up and stuff WOOT WOOT. And I finally have the stuff around to make them. Ive been wanting to make it for the longest time. This was actually pretty easy and as of right now I have been repainting it.
