Since Yin posted about her run in with a shiny, I decided to show off share my shiny catches with you guys, since I realized that anyone who isn't on my tumblr is pretty much in the dark about the stuff I get up to on my game. SO IN SHORT, I managed to get three shinies since I started o/
I got Belzelga when I was breeding Nidorans for my regular playthrough, I got Rhodes when I was running around in Petty's Friend Safari looking for breed chain materials
AND THEN THERE'S KALI.
I was running around all day trying to get a reckless starly to breed. I got one after like 6/7 hours by combing the rare as hell starly hordes, went to start breeding for IVs, and then managed to get a starly with perfect IVs in everything except sp.atk. I decided to go and breed a bunch more starly to give away to other people since I had gone through so much trouble to get an adamant reckless starly, and then out of bloody nowhere, one of them was shiny. I checked Kali's stats and it ended up having perfect IVs as well, on top of being reckless. I just thought it was fitting to name this thing after the freakin goddess of destruction, since that is pretty much reflective of its future.

i also find it super fortunate that the shinies i got ended up being pokemon i really liked anyway

breed like a mad man....
ive done over 648 eggs of charizard and never once found a shiny yet. Simplest way though would be to get a japanese, pokemon and one of your own and breed them. it raises your chances drastically from if you get just 2 of the same country, it would have to say its from japan though in order for it to work.
that or go catch one using a chain method, id recommend fishing even though you cant get much that way. have something with Suction cups as an ability so your 100% certain to get a catch every time you fish, trick is though you need to stay in one spot and you need to unregister everything else except the rod your using.
its annoying but hey, it works. as long as its x and y your asking about anyways.

How did you check Kali's IVs? Did you use one of those IV calculators or is there some other way?

I got a shiny Carnivine and then a shiny Flabebe that I evolved into a shiny Floette that I will never evolve. <3

*cries* my only shiny was a long time ago, i was honestly only looking for a magmar in my safari zone in heartgold, and bam SHINY GOLEM. and guess what happened after that. Little cousin somehow gets my game (probably from my brother) AND SHE DELETED MY GAME D':

wow that sucks.... i got a shiny zigzagoon in emerald, i didn't even know it was shiny it was the first time i ever seen one. thankfully i was stupid enough not to consider it a glitch before i seen others raving about "Shiny pokemon"
i probably would have deleted it.

its on my pokemon diamond now, along with all my other pokemon from emerald.
if i find a shiny Charmander and its not a female would you want it? im doing IV and nature breeding and im hoping to get one, but i only want a female, so if i ever get one you could have it.
It'd be Docile nature and hopefully have perfect IV, though i haven't grasped how to get it 100% chance of having a perfect IV... BUT IM WORKING ON IT!

Ok, so i'll catch you a spheal or breed it which ever you want, and im still working on Charizard.... i dunno everyone's finding shinies on their pokemon Y i haven't yet seen a person say they found a shiny on X
just to speed up my process imma take the extremely difficult Noibat out of my X day care and work on both games to find one. Some pokemon just won't breed with anything i swear, this noibat's been in with every pokemon i have and won't work with any of them.
i'll postpone him though, so i'll get started on both games now xD

Thats really cool, in my pokemon Diamond, i had nothing but shiny eevee in my group. I evolved them all except the last one which turned into an umbreon eventually. i had a full scale attack on the elite 4 all of them knew Giga Impact, i love that move i wanted to cry when my Tyrantrum learned Giga Impact i was so happy.
Even if your pokemon has to rest the next turn 95% of the time my Tyrantrum took everything out in 1 hit so it wasn't a problem. If you want a faster way to hatch eggs and not have to do anything yourself i recommend Prism Tower
Use a quarter and stick it under the moving stick in one direction or the other. Thats all i do, it'll drive around in a circle until an egg hatches and i don't have to stay, i can do whatever i want in the mean time

Awesome! I chose Aurous instead, but I never really got into training it, so I kinda just put it in the daycare with an Espurr. I just kept my team pretty much the same, Delphox, Blaziken, Venusaur, and Talonflame, up until I found out that I could get a super cute dragon. So I got myself a Goodra, and she is just awesome! She usually one-hit KO's anything. She's level 98 <3 But, I don't really like doing the thing where you put a quarter in front of it because I like to actually run around, just incase something happens, like if I run into someone, and I left my 3ds alone, plus last time I left my 3ds alone.... I got my shiny deleted....

Mhm, good point my Grandma got a hold of my Pokemon Y last night and deleted it. I've got no clue how she did it either...

I've been collecting the Destiny Knots and Everstones for when i breed my pokemon.
Haha, i took my Tyrantrum to the judge and he said its overall potential sucks xD
i never would have thought so since it could own down anything it fought with, but then again it also helped a lot that i had full hearts on its friendship meter. I wasn't into training them either but i loved using the Pokemon-Amie to pet them and play with them

Awwh, I usually don't do Pokémon-Amie, but when I do, it's so addicting x( But I think I know how she did it. It's the same way as the other games, Select, Start, Up, and B I think, and that's the only way to start a new game, you can't just start for the heck of it when you're bored, you have to delete it to do so, and I was planning on restarting my game to get a Froakie and check out game play like that, buuuut, then I figured that out.. And I've never been to the Judge, you wanna tell me where his/she may be???

You've beaten the Elite 4 already right? that last town you go to by train is were the judge is at. He tells you about your pokemons IVs, thats why everyone who's competitive breeds their pokemon according to what he says, you can find him at the pokemon center over there against the wall.
Ive been trying to but, i got no clue what Noibat/Noivern need as their highest IV and what can just hang there. Speed is of an essence but i don't know what else it needs. I do Pokemon-Amie a lot! When your pokemon get high enough friendship with you they tend to evade attacks and even cure themselves of status conditions on their own without use of items.
To bad it doesn't work with Wifi battles though, but then again i think those battles would last forever if it did apply so its better off this way, so everyone just breeds fr perfect IV instead so they last longer.
Its sucks to, i've got 3 DS i can use for the safari but none of them have what i need in it. Just ice, psychic, and bug types. I have to start my X over to eventually
In all the GTS everyone who has a pokemon i want have ridiculous offers for them. Why would they even bother saying they want legendary pokemon for a pokemon that everyone's forgotten about? I love Mantine, truely but im not even willing to give them a legendary for it....
Mantine itself is probably the 7th most forgotten pokemon that nobody pays attention to. I kinda want to pet one in Pokemon-Amie though x3

I'm sorry man, if I ever get Poké-Bank, I'll transfer my Mantine from HG to it! And thank you for the info! And my cousin was like the only friend I got on there, and he had a flying safari :/ Wasn't very useful to say the least :/ And I just started using Pokémon Amie with my Delphox, and I started noticing it. It started to distract me from hatching though, so I had to stop. Almost 2 boxes of Eevee's since I started breeding them (bout two days ago) and still nothing. Oh well, trial and error I suppose. On a day close to Christmas I'm going to go over to my cousins and use Wonder Trade in hope that some people will enjoy my bounds of Eevee's

kinda sucks, i can only get so many pokemon from these 3 ds i have so none of them have anything i was actually looking for. But thats ok to! I need something with maximum speed because apparently no one loves Lucario...
doing sooooo well with my Noibats now, got like six of them and the wannabe Articuno from GTS so im good there, they all have higher HP though, Noiverns best stat is its speed.

Ah nice! I would like to add your 3DS, it would be nice, if only I knew how. My cousin did it for me :/ I don't have wifi that my 3DS can connect to, so I'm kinda a newbie when it comes to things like Online Battles and such. I always was more of a breeder, and I never even questioned it, I didn't even do it for competitive, I just did it for something to do. I always bred my Eevee's though. That was pretty much the only thing I bred, and I never got a shiny out of the thousands or so I hatched

Oh, well i can guide you through adding people to your 3DS if you want.
When you turn on your 3DS you'll see a orange smiley face located between the Pencil (game notes) and Notifications. Thats where you'll find your 3DS Friend code at, From there if your going to add someone you'll need to know what Name their Code is under and their Friend Code.
If you do that then you shouldn't have any problems besides the internet. But you reply to these messages often so im assuming you have internet where your at. For that you just need to go to your internet connection settings and manual set up then have your 3DS search for an access point to connect to.
Besides that you won't really need internet to go into the Safari or anything, but you will need it to add someone far away from you. So even if its a local library or something you need to connect to thats pretty much all you need it for is adding people to your Friend list.
though... we might want to start sending notes instead of just replying to these comments, We're just taking up the comment section of the person this conversation originally started on

Besides Charizard im doing Fennekin, Dragonite, Growlithe, and possibly Tyrantrum as of now. I figured out how to do IV breeding to now so i'll try my best to get a perfect IV for you.
I'll be trailing through the end of the Elite 4 tonight then im on that IV stuff like flies on crap
i just gotta find out what pokemon are supposed to be good at what, but very soon!

thats really cool, i have about 60 charmander from previous attempts so i just throw them on GTS and put out what i want in return, surprisingly enough some people actually read the trainer memo
they see i ask for a japanese pokemon and they send me one. i just traded my xerneas for the fennekin though. Maybe someday we should battle xD
But id only use my best team for Wifi battles so im doing all the breeding on X and building my army on Y

Ahaha nice, I've only got y, I can't connect to the wifi at my house for some reason, but when I go over to my cousin's house, he lets me get on. I pretty much just do both on y, and it takes a while :/
