In the games Light and Wily are about 57....so i placed the time of Act II when they were in their 20s, since about 20 years took place between the former and latter half of Act II (Joe's anywhere from 18-20), 12 years to build Protoman, and an unspecified amount of time between funeral For a Son and Unrest.

I respect the games very much and it was my original intent to keep them younger, but I felt like 20 was just too young to know how to build super-powered robots. I felt like this story needed more substance of reality. I wanted them to be older and more wise when they started. I know it's odd for them to be 100 years old in modern times but Wily has all those robot prosthetic he could be using to keep what's left of him alive and Light is still alive from sheer MAN-BEARD-WILLPOWERZ!!!! All in all, they are both living legends so they could totally pull off the century old thing.
As for Joe, I figured that seeing as how Joe dies 12 years before Protoman is born in 200X the earliest he could die while still being in the 80's was in 88.
For Rock and Protoman I thought that 6 years to a robot would be a breeze. They(as superior and highly advanced beings) could learn all they needed from their respective 'owners' in a little over half a decade.
