Description
Hi there people! Damn, I'm on a role! 3rd deviation today! And once again, related to Paper Mario the Metora Kingdom! I figured that I needed to show the updated Party Members, since a lot of them have changed a bit since I first designed them(Going from left to right)
Octoombravo:
A friendly octoomba working as a military private in the National Metorian Army. Being in the Military he can toss grenades to blow up cracks in walls and rocks by tapping the touch screen in the place you want to throw the grenade.(ect.) Secondary Ability: Can toss flash bangs to stun at enemies giving you a first strike where the enemy is stunned for the first 2 turns.
Trobuzza:
An Eskoopot / Buzzy Beetle explorer who loves going on adventures and viewing nature. Mario can kick his shell across gaps to retrieve items or hit switchs from a distance by drawing a strait line in the direction you want to kick him. Sencondary Ability: Tap Trobuzza on the touch screen so Mario will jump on his back and then draw a circle to make him spin around allowing you to spin cogs and such.
Merlia:
Merlia is the same raise as Merlon, Merluvlee, (ect) She is a troubled Merlotion who doen't remember much of her past. By tapping an item or certain movable object you can levatate it and move it around by dragging it across the touch screen. Seconary Ability: Can move larger objects than before (such as large rocks) and can even telapathecly fling enemies around out side of battle.
Tanagi:
An old and at first, quite depressed racoon who claims to have created the Nadiri Mountains with his now dead wife: Tanami. By quickly drawing a line across the screen on the gamepad, he can cause Mario and himself to dash forward super quickly, allowing you to get over small gaps. Secondary Ability: Allows you to wall kick jump off walls to reach higher areas.
Volru
A Vholst from Force-Strike Valley who is rather shy at first. She carries a Trident which was passed down from generations. By tapping and holding, Volru can power nearby devices and uncovering secret items. Secondary Ability: By drawing a quick line going up from Volru Volru, she can create a lightning strike above you which can be used to hit switches and such above you.
Lasafi:
A girly Sun Bubble from Plasmarha Lake who doesn't remember much of what happened to herself when Mario first meets her. Can light up dark areas or set things on fire, light torches or melt ice. Secondary Ability: By tapping anywhere on the touchscreen lasafi will shoot a fireball which will travel in the direction you put it in.
Dooplund:
A Wise Doopla Ghost wizzard who was protecting Peach and Medreana and pretending to work for Darameana and Delumer. Can transform into NPCs so that other NPCs will mistake Mario for being someone else. Secondary Ability: Can copy the shapes of certain statues to turn Mario into a Paper airplane, helicopter or boat.
Cloudia:
A friendly lakitu-like cloud who lives in Heven Haven. Problem is... she's scared of heights... Can blow a gust of wind when you blow into the Wii U gamepad microphone which can blow obsticles out of the way or move them. Secondary Ability: Can take you to any location in the game (basicly fast travel) when you tap and hold her on the touch screen.
Metaria
An optional party member, acquired only by defeating all 5 of the Metoran Gods. She is an angel given to Mario as a reward from the gods from doing this. Since you will have completed most of the game at this point, by tapping Metaria, she will open up a map of the area you're in, and can take you to any screen in that area; this also includes some secret areas, inaccessible before hand. Secondary Ability: By drawing a circle around Metaria, she will automatically defeat any surrounding enemies on the field.
That's all! Which is your favourite?

I can see why I did take inspiration from SPM's style when designing her

Which is my favorite ? what a knotty question.
I think Metaria take rather easily the lead : she is so dazzling, it is slightly unfair.
I think the second will be the racoon, I wonder what past can he really have ?
We will surely have the answer next time.

Haha, well it's makes sense: she's optional and very difficult to get, and well, since you'll have beaten most of the big optional bosses at the end, she really just serves as a final touch to the game, to mess around with and explore freely, and a reward for the player themselves.
And yeah, he's based off of Izanagi, so if you know that Shinto story, then you might be able figure out what sort o stuff will go down in Chapter 3!

I understand but even aren't you afraid it turn the game a little over-boring ?

Well, the whole point of Metaria is as I say, one last thing to have fun with after the game, and gives the player a reason to fight the Metoran Gods! And all of this SHOULD keep things interesting for the after game right?

Well indeed, especially as I think this five Metorian gods are highly hard trials to the poor player.
Beside it, I wait to know more things about them (it reminds me somethings from Fantendo's wiki).

Yes, the gods are:
Plasmarha: Goddess of the Sun
Lumienio: God of the Moon
Relmeadon: God of Black Holes
Stareinia: God of the Stars
Gravatone: God of Gravity
Once the player beats all of them, they are rewarded with Metaria!
However, there is actually one more Metoran God... Remember the Reflection Crest at the founding of the kingdom? Well, the voice that came from it was from some god? hehehe... that's one final ultimate boss at the very end...

It is very interesting. And so Plasmarha is in fact a girl.
I was slightly puzzling because she was called a god several time during the Chapter 8. And as in French the Sun is male, I have always looked her as a boy.
If Sun is male, the Moon is female, like Brighton* and Twila* from Mario Party 6. It is the opposite in German and so, their genders were inverted in this game version.
* "the incandescent dude of the daytime"
* "the dazzling dame of the night"
Beside it I wonder who this ultimate divinity is ? What his attribut is ?

Well, I never took into consideration, the fact that objects have gender languages, but that has nothing to do with it, nor does Brighton or Twila; since Metora is its own kingdom, it has a completely different religion to that of the Mushroom Kingdom I usuall try to balance female characters out, even with the bosses, which is why 4 of the chapter bosses are female, and 5 party members are female (Also, I made a mistake, Stareinia is also Female)
Well, I was originally going to have the whole "go back in time" thing, to have the player experience The Metora Kingdom founding, but... I'm actually gonna say, screw that! The problem is, it'd just leave an unsatisfying ending for the aftergame, after what is a good ending to main game, and the player already knows that Relmeadon would just screw everything up, so instead, each God boss is kinda like its own mini-chapter, some with dungeons, others with a side-quest feel to it, ect...
But I guess all you need to know is:
1. The ultimate Divinity is actually also a female
and
2. The kingdom has to be named after something... ^^

I understand your view, I am myself trying to fulfil gender parity as much as possible.
It is rather knotty with odd numbered sets, like 7 which are legions in Mario games, so when it happens I try to give a more decisive role to the outnumbered one.
To give an instance, the 7 former kings of my Paper Mario gather 4 male characters plus 3 female ones. And so to retrieve some kind of parity I make a queen the leader of them, so she counts double.
You have 3 gods, together with 3 goddesses... ABSOLUTE PARITY ! my congratulation.
Concerning the ultimate divinity, perhaps a "Metora the goddess of shouting stars" or meteors...
I am also avoiding time travel-like things, I am still trying to understand Earthbound chronology...

Yeah, I always try to keep things balanced in that way ^^
Well, Metora isn't the goddess of a particular thing, but rather just the Goddess of all the other gods/goddesses. I suppose she is sort of just the god of space itself
And yeah, especially since I already implemented time travel in my first game
