Background:

As a child, Theory Twilight was raised under the watchful eyes of the Assassin's Guild. He never actually got to see his parents, but he heard stories about them and their high ranking within the guild. Theory never really had the time to think about his mother and father, as his days were spent training and his nights studying to become a master assassin much like his mysterious parents.

By the age of 13 Theory had proven himself to be quite the accomplished assassin. On his first actual mission, he was able to execute his target in less than 3 minutes. Something most adults weren't capable of. He also showed great knowledge in the ways of the assassin. He was able to demonstrate various forms of assessment from the body's weak spots to gathering intelligence without drawing attention. This all came from him not having a real family or friends.

By age 18, Theory had risen through the ranks of the Guild and one of their top Assassins. All he had to do now pass his Mastery Exam. The Exam was a mission, an assassination as always only it had to be carried out as a team. Theory was surprised that not only had he never attempted a team mission. But his partners were the only two friends he had in the Guild.

Theory and his team were able to successfully eliminate there target and things seemed to go off without a hitch, unfortunately their target's children witnessed Theory performing this act. They screamed in panic and alerted Theory. Having no choice, Theory captured and slaughtered them all. As he and his team returned, the sounds of those children crying and begging for their lives never left his head. Leaving him emotionally scarred despite being praised on his successful mission and earning the alias "Nightshade".

For the next few months Theory became a sadistic killing machine. Taking lives gave him a feeling of ecstasy and power. But deep down, he was suffering. He couldn't control himself when it came to killing. Soon he became feared as crazed demon of death. This drove Theory insane. He realized that he could no longer stand to live this way, and attempted suicide, only to fail. Desperate to put an end to his nightmares, he pleaded with the Guild's leader to allow his to retire from his dangerous profession to which the leader gave him a choice, be a test subject for the Guild's method of memory surpression or die. The leader then said "Don't make a foolish choice like your parents did." This sent Theory into a state of mental shock as he prepared to attack the leader but was stopped by his own team members. Having no options left, Theory agreed to the Memory Surpression Process (MSP).

The MSP was successful in its testing however due to Theory's mental instability caused by his trauma. His memories now manifest themselves ad voices in his head, nightmares, and visions.

A year later, while living on his own, his nightmares, caused a relapse and Theory gave in to the voices. During his rampage, Theory ran into a young girl named Malina. The two engaged in battle but in the end Malina's demonic power proved to be too much for even him to withstand. Finally returning to his senses, Theory was surprised to see that Malina had spared his life. He apologized for what he had done and was forgiven. Malina then offered to help him deal with his condition and despite Theory's not wanting her to be around a "psycho" he gave in and agreed.

Since that day. Theory and Malina have been best friends and there's been very few relapses.

4. It is assumed that Theory's parents faked their deaths and are in hiding.

5. While Theory does enjoy the taste of dark souls, pure souls, according to him, taste awful.
