I think the college gave him his degree because they were quite tired of having him around.
Having a degree means you have the knowledge, but you must put that knowledge to work. Dobson rather stay less than mediocre and instead of practicing, he bitches on Twitter and keeps on saying he'll leave DA and has yet to do so.Β

Sorry for the delayed response.
Might just be playing semantics but I wouldn't agree with people who say they hate him. Hate is just so personal, and he hasn't really done anything bad outside of making crappy comics and journals. This particular drawing is a parody of one of his earlier works that said something like, "Hire me! I have a degree in animation" (he took it down from his dA page, so I can't link to it) which I just found stupidly funny if I made it into a plankton thing. The Plankton comparison also resonated because I feel he has a tendency to pass his failing off on others. He made comments that he never got an animation job because the school was crappy (though it seemed that he never put much effort into animations anyway. I can't find any animations on his dA) and that he should be praised because he had to work against having no natural talent (He made a journal on how his roommate was just naturally gifted, which his roommate posted back in utter offense). He likes to make political and social issue comics, but they are mostly uninformed or not well fleshed out, sometimes they showcase his double standards (He made a huge fuss over creators making characters with sex appeal, right after drawing a bunch of pin-up girls). Over the years he has gotten better in some respects but not in others. I don't follow him that much anymore, and there isn't anything he has done that someone should get too upset about.
