Description
They appeared out front of an old, craftsman-style house of royal blue and light slate color, with some white detailing here and there. It was a two-story abode with a vast array of windows adorning both the upper and lower levels, some rectangular, some circular. A single brick chimney stuck its head out from the roof on the left side of the house. The front porch was decorated with white, stone pillars, holding the overhang up from the front, all the way around the left side of the building. There was a gray, stone walkway that traced its way through a delicate set of beautifully pruned bushes and led up to a black, iron fence that trailed all the way around the front and sides of the house.About halfway up to the fence, the walkway tracked off to the left, leading around the house, through a trail sided by huge, over-hanging trees and bushes, to a gate in the fence that opened up to the backyard. In front of the diverting walkway, closer to the house, there was a small patch of neatly trimmed grass, edged on the right side with beautiful pink flowers that led up to the gate. There was a similar patch of pink and greenery on the opposite side of the walkway, leading up to the fence as well.
The upper windows of the house were framed with flower boxes, containing various colorful plants and other flora of sorts.
Rhina gasped in awe as she took in all of the features of the beautifully constructed house. The ceilings, doors and windows were unusually tall, of course, accommodating the average height of the person living there, which was about 7-8 feet.
“Do you like it?” Slenderman asked the now wonderstruck child.
“It’s amazing!” she said with immense delight.
He chuckled and said, “Well, then, you’re going to love the inside.”
Rhina’s eyes brimmed with excitement as he started walking towards the house.
They went through the gate and up to the front door, which was only a few inches taller than he was.
“Are you ready?”
“Yes!” she replied excitedly, almost falling out of his arms.
Slendy laughed and readjusted her in his arms and opened the door.
Rhina’s jaw dropped when she saw what was to behold on the other side of the large door. The interior walls were plastered with a beautifully elegant, white wallpaper, stretching from the living room, which was located directly to the left upon entering the house, down the hallways and off into a room on the right.
Upon the wall to the right hung an alluring, delicately white-framed mirror. The frame of the mirror reflected thick, white lines passing over the mirror itself, twisting into square spirals in the corners and leaving a set of double-lines to trace the sides.
In the living room there was a charming, marble fireplace, outlined in a beige, carved mantle, upon which stood two, three-pronged candelabra's, a couple of picture frames, and above it hung a golded ringed mirror.
There was a long, chic, white couch sitting by the entranceway of the living room, and a similar, yet slightly shorter, couch that rested against the far wall by the hallway. In the center of the room stood a coffee table. It was an interesting coffee table. The top was made of a semi-thick piece of clear glass, while the stand was constructed of a black, tree-like form, its branches trailing upward to support the glass, while its roots stretched out below, resting on the floor.
The living room was displayed to the outside world through an array of four large windows, stretching across the front of the house. Sitting in front of the windows were two large, elegant, white chairs with extremely high backs to them, the backs detailed with a cross-bedding type of style, the same style as the two couches. In between the two chairs was a small, white, wooden table with a drawer on the front, atop which stood a reading lamp.
Next to the longer of the couches, there stood a tall, modern, crystal floor lamp. Its shade was composed of white cloth with crystal-beaed strings hanging down from the edges and criss-crossing back and forth. Very vintage-looking, but with a modern twist.
Rhina’s eyes darted back and forth from furniture piece to furniture piece; she could hardly contain herself from all of the intricate features.
“So, what do you think?”
“It’s so pretty in here!” she replied with delight.
Slenderman chuckled and said, “Well, then you’re going to love the rest of the house.”
Rhina beamed and looked around as he carried her over to the room on the right.
As it turns out, the room on the right was, in fact, a large kitchen, displayed with a big, sliding-glass door that led to the outside. The cabinets were hung high on the walls to accommodate Slendy’s tall stature. The fridge was one of those big, shiny, high-efficiency, double-door fridge/freezer combos. There was a tall, island counter in the center of the room that had a small sink in it for cleaning. Closer towards the glass door, there was a beautiful, oval, marble table with delicate carvings along the sides and legs of it. There were four elegant dining chairs that were carefully placed around it, each with the same cross-bedding design on the backs.
"Nice!" she said with a small giggle.
Slendy smiled and exited the kitchen, heading down the hallway.
He opened a door to the left and turned on the light.
“This is my room,” he said.
Rhina lifted her head and looked around the room, tiredly. There was a large, elegant, king-sized bed, decorated with pillows and royal looking fabrics. Across from it, against the wall, was a big, flat-screen TV that sat upon a white, decoratively carved entertainment center. The walls were decorated with the same ornamental wallpaper that tracked through the rest of the house and were framed with intricate moldings. At the end of the bed was a fancy, padded bench. Hanging from the ceiling was a beautiful chandelier, adorned with short, white candles, hanging golden glass-colored beads and jewels.
There was a small dresser with only two drawers, upon which rested a few various knick-knacks: a small lamp, and, above it, hung a large, oval, silver-rimmed mirror. There was a bedside table on both sides of the bed, upon one which sat a small reading lamp.
The carpet was a soft, plush, white.
Rhina looked around and said, “It’s really nice in here.” Then she yawned and rested her head against his shoulder.
He looked down at her; she was getting tired, he could tell. But, there was only one more room he wanted to show her, though, so it wouldn’t be much longer.
He closed the door and continued down the hallway, stopping at the last door at the end of the hallway.
"And this is your room," he said, putting his hand on the doorknob.
Rhina looked up, interested. "I get my own room?!" she said, excitedly.
"Well, of course you do," Slendy said with a smile etching into his face.
He turned the doorknob and opened the door.
Rhina gasped in amazement.
It. Was. Pink.
Cherry wood flooring tracked over the entire room. The walls were covered in a cute pink-and-white flowered wallpaper. Upon one of the walls, next to the bed hung a beautiful, intricately carved clock. A soft pink bow and ribbons framed it, hanging down below the clock.
Slendy put Rhina down. She simply stood there, awestruck. She turned every-which way, looking at anything and everything in the room.
There was a little window seat with a soft pink cushion covered in plush pink pillows and assorted bear and bunny dolls across from the bed.
Rhina ran over and climbed up on the seat and picked up one of the dolls, a little cloth rabbit with long droopy ears, wearing a pink and blue, polka-dotted dress, hugging it along with her teddybear. Then she looked in front of her at the bed and gasped again.
She quickly ran over and put her hands on the edge of the bed.
"I get this whole big bed to myself?" she asked, looking back at Slendy with excitement in her eyes.
Slendy laughed and said, "Well, of course you do!"
Her eyes got really big and so did her smile. She crawled her way on top of the bed and began jumping around and giggling like the cute little wonderstruck child that she was.
Slenderman smiled to himself. Happiness. The best gift you could ever give a child. And he had succeeded.
The bed itself was a full-sized, four-poster bed with light pink canopy drapes hanging down and tied to the posts. It had two, big, frilly pinks pillows that sat neatly at the head of the bed, a couple more pink stuffed animals sat against them. The comforter was also a soft pink. It was warm, but not too thick.
At the end of the bed, stood a small, pink padded bench with raised sides, decorated with an ornamental design. Rhina bounced down onto the bed on her butt and scooted her way off the bed via the bench.
Next to the bed was a small nightstand, upon which sat a small, vintage, pink, lace reading lamp. The stand of the lamp was made of cream-colored ceramic and was in the shape of a unicorn. It had roze quartz stones for eyes.
She inspected the lamp with amazement in her eyes. She touched the lamp and flicked the lightswitch, which was located at the base of the stand, off and on and off and on, giggling as she did so.
Rhina turned around and noticed something else and ran around to the other side of the bed.
On the other side of the bed, next to a window, sat a small white dresser, painted with pink flowers on the drawers in mirrored patterns. Atop the dresser sat a small vase full of pink snapdragons, an empty pink picture frame, a couple more dolls, and a small, white and pink jewelry box.
Rhina opened the jewelry box and it started playing a soft, lullaby-like tune. She stood there for a while, eyes closed, listening to the soft melody. Then she smiled and closed it.
She turned around and took one last look at her beautiful new room, then she ran over and gave Slendy's leg a great big hug! The biggest she could ever give!
Slendy chuckled and said, "I take it you like your new room?"
"I LOVE IT!!!" she exclaimed, happily.
Slendy chuckled again and said, "Well, I'm glad, but it's time for bed. We've got a big day ahead of us tomorrow."
Rhina yawned and rubbed her eyes, extreme exhaustion overtaking her. "Okay..."
Rhina walked over to her bed, dropped her backpack next to the nightstand and climbed her way up and under the covers, snuggling down with her stuffed animals.
Slenderman smiled and walked over to her and knelt down, so that he was eyelevel with her.
He placed a hand on her head and said, "Goodnight, Rhina. I'll see you in the morning."
Rhina smiled over at him and then quickly got up and hugged him around his neck, saying, "Thank you so much, Mr. Slendy!"
Slendy laughed and said, "You're very welcome, Rhina. Now try to get some sleep."
Slenderman got up and started walking towards the door, when suddenly Rhina called out, "Wait a minute!"
Slenderman turned around, surprised. "What is it?"
Rhina was bent over the side of the bed, reaching for her backpack. She pulled it up onto the bed and unzipped it, digging for something. After a moment, she pulled out a book. She smiled and held it up to show him.
"What's that?" Slendy asked.
"It's my bedtime book! It's got stories that help me go to sleep. Mommy would read one to me every once in a while when I was throwing a fit and wouldn't go to bed..." She looked down at the book, somberly. She really enjoyed the stories, though very seldom got to have them read to her. She could read them herself, mind you, it was just better when she had someone read them to her.
"Come on, Rhina it's really late. Just go to sleep," Slendy ushered her.
"Oh, come on! Just one. Please!!!" she looked up at him with the most adorable look on her face. One that could melt anyone's heart, no matter how tough they thought they were.
Slendy couldn't help but sigh and give in.
"Alright, just one." He walked over to her and took the book. She smiled really big and scooted over so that he had room to sit down on the bed next to her. "But after that, you have to go to sleep, okay?"
She grinned and said, "Okay!"
"Alright." He looked at the cover of the book. Best Loved Sleepytime Tales was the title. He flipped open the book and began skimming through the pages. "Which story do you want me to read?"
"The one on page 357! That one's my favorite!"
"Okay, let's see..." Slendy skipped to page 357. "Lucy and the Green Door?"
"Yeah! That one!" she said, smiling.
Slendy chuckled and said, "Okay, then."
Rhina scooted over and snuggled up to him, pulling the blanket up and cuddling her dolls. Slendy looked down at her and smiled and began reading.
The story started out about a young girl named Lucy Jenkins, who lived in an ordinary house, on an ordinary street, in an ordinary town. There was an old oak tree at the end of a long trail that went through her garden. At the base of the oak tree was a little green door, only big enough for Lucy to be able to squeeze through. Behind the door, hid a secret world.
Each afternoon, Lucy would knock lightly on the door. On the third knock, the door would open, and the Chief Elf would be there to welcome her inside.
"'Come inside, little Lucy and have some tea!'" Slendy read, imitating what one would imagine a chief elf to sound like. Rhina giggled and snuggled closer, closing her eyes. Slendy smiled and continued reading.
Inside there would be many other elves. Some were nice, some were tricksters, some would make wonderful foods and drinks for Lucy, some would tell her lots of wonderful tales from all over the world.
Lucy would always go back home afterwards, feeling very cheerful and jolly.
Soon, however, Lucy began going to school, so she was only able to visit her elf friends on the weekends. This made Lucy very sad. But, her elf friends assured her that if she remained their loyal friend, that they would not forget about her. This made Lucy very happy and kept her spirits up.
Lucy managed to make a friend at school named Jessica. She didn't tell Jessica about the little green door at first, but she did tell her about the stories that she had learned from her elf friends.
Jessica became curious as to where Lucy had heard all of these wonderful tales. Every day, Jessica would ask more and more questions, and Lucy found it more and more difficult to avoid telling her about her secret. Eventually, Lucy gave in and told her about the little green door.
Jessica scoffed and laughed when Lucy told her about the chief elf and all of the others. She howled with laughter at the thought of all of the wonderful foods and games that followed. She thought that Lucy was making it all up!
But Lucy kept telling her that it was all true! And that she would prove it. So one day, after school, Lucy invited Jessica over and took her out back to the garden. She was about to knock on the little green door, when she suddenly noticed that it wasn't there anymore!
Lucy rubbed her eyes and looked again, but it simply wasn't there! Jessica smirked and laughed at Lucy, telling her that she was silly and a baby for believing in magic and fairy tales, and then ran back down the road to her own home.
That night, Lucy went to bed, feeling very sad. She began to dream.
In the dream, all of her elf friends came forward and hugged her and questioned her about why she hadn't been to visit in so long. Lucy told them about her last visit and about Jessica. Then one of them spoke.
"'Little Lucy,' she said, 'you are special. You believe in magic and you believe in the little people. And, because you believe, you are able to see us and live among us. But those who don't believe will always be shut out from our world. You must keep your belief, little Lucy.'"
Slendy looked down at Rhina. She was resting against his chest, contently, eyes closed, sucking her thumb. He smiled and continued softly reading the last bit of the story.
"With a huge surge of happiness, Lucy woke up, dressed quickly, and ran out of her house, down the ordinary path in the ordinary garden up to the extraordinary tree, and was delighted to see the green door once more. She knocked very lightly, and, after the third tap, the door swung open to reveal the Chief Elf. 'Come inside, little Lucy,' the elf said happily, 'and have some tea.'"
Slenderman closed the book and said, "What a lovely story." Then he looked back down at Rhina and smiled again. He gently lifted her up and sat her back down onto the bed, resting her head softly against one of the plush pillows. She didn't stir. He knelt down and gently kissed the top of her head, saying, "Sleep well, child." Then he turned, switched off the lamp, and walked towards the door.
Before he closed the door, he looked back at her one more time and said, "Goodnight, Rhina."
From amidst the soft blankets and dolls he heard a faint, sleepy voice respond, "Goodnight, Daddy."
Slenderman paused for a moment, taking in what she had just said. Then he smiled, contentedly, and closed the door, leaving it open just a crack, a big smile on his face. He didn't really expect her to view him as a "dad", but still, somewhere deep down inside of him, it made him feel happy. Having someone to care about and look after. Someone who you knew wasn't afraid and going to run away at the sight of you. It made his heart flutter with joy.
As he turned to walk away to his own room, he heard one last thing come from behind the door, "Best birthday, ever."

As for the details, it could maybe have been summarized better, but that comes with practice. Details are important when it moves the plot or provides important information to the reader/character(s) learning the said information. Otherwise, summarizing is usually recommended.
Still I found it nice to see how you imagine the house. It sounded absolutely beautiful.
