As an amateur photographer everything I know is either self-taught or little bits of advice from my betters. This photo from Stormy Pass at an elevation of 12,300 ft gives a fantastic view of the backside of the Castles. In order to reach this view, it takes a ten-mile hike starting an elevation 9,000 ft through the back country, a good track but nothing too bad for an experienced hiker. I've titled this Failure, because this was taken early on when I was still learning how to use my camera. Unfortunately, I messed up my settings that day and ended up overexposing all of the photos. It made for a hard learning experience; it was a great hike but none of the photos look all that good. This one had to be heavily edited just to get it to this point. I hope you enjoy the view and the story.
