Description In which Sarah Williams needs to save the Goblin King.

So I've watched the movie 'Labyrinth' after seeing loads of gifs on Tumblr that got me curious and I loved it
The creatures at the bottom are based on the concept art of Henson himself that are included in the 2016 re-issue of the book, written by A.C.H. Smith. (My copy arrived yesterday )

Found this while hitting the random button. A very well done piece.  Reminds me of pen & inks I admired back in the 70's. You demonstrate a high level of craftsmanship with this illustration.
Bravo.

Is there a story behind this? I love it and would love to know more.

Ahh, well, it's not really a specific story, but I've been influenced by a couple of fanfics in which Jareth and the Labyrinth get attacked/affected by some dark force and Sarah needs to come help, since like she says in the beginning of the film "But what no-one knew was that the King of the Goblins had fallen in love with the girl and he had given her certain powers.".
There's a lot of speculation about how true that sentence is and what kind of powers Jareth has apparently given Sarah, so I like to think that she indeed has some kind of magic that she would have to use to save Jareth from the darkness when they meet again later in her life.

The ones I liked best (and remembered ) were these:
www.fanfiction.net/s/5120841/1… (This one's a bit dark, but nicely written to my opinion)
www.fanfiction.net/s/5364356/1… (An alternate universe, based on Snowwhite)
www.fanfiction.net/s/5437377/1… (Angst and drama with a dash of romance, the perfect cocktail )
www.fanfiction.net/s/9810954/1… (A RumplestiltskinXLabyrinth story, my favourite multpile-chapters Labyrinth (it gets better and better))
www.fanfiction.net/s/7685230/1… (Another nice oneshot)
www.fanfiction.net/s/5546434/1… (With a Sarah-becomes-the-savior-plot)

I hope they don't disappoint you Happy reading!

I like "Faded", very well written. But I wish she'd have saved Jareth. And the one thing I really didn't like was how uncaring/indifferent Sarah was to the fact that he was dying on her porch.

"Saving Labyrinth"........Holy crap, I was addited to this one. Everyone was wonderfully in character and the J S banter was beautiful. I loved Leija and Turnok (he was the funniest little idiot), they were great and seemed like characters that honestly really could've come from Jim Henson himself. I wish we'd gotten a little more on Edorin and his motives, but he was still very interesting. The romance was great and Jareth's "death"....oh my God. My only minor thing is that I prefer JS when Sarah isn't 15, but has grown up a little. But love is love, and JS are meant to be. Thanks for sharing these!

Omg, I'm so sorry for my incredibly late reply!

Ah, yes, that was my main problem with that fic too...

Hahaha, I know right! The skills of so many fanfiction writers never cease to amaze me. I personally also prefer the romance stories where Sarah's more grown up, those often have very interesting storylines. But love is love, indeed.
I also really love that there are so many different styles of SarahXJareth, the comedy fics are often as amazing as the dramatic stories. A while back, I found this one: www.fanfiction.net/s/4076198/1… and it was really nice too.

And no problem, you're very welcome!

Ahh, thank you, I'm so glad you like it! I really like drawing like that, it's quite calming, though it definitely takes a while ^^ I actually cross-hatched the whole black part too, before I decided it would probably be best to colour it all black
