And you aren't weird. Funny thing is at first I'd always imagined Ireland to be a guy and Northern Ireland to be a girl. Then I read this fic which had it other way around and thought that made more since. But now I don't think it really matters too much to me. If Himaruya-san does a design for either of them I'd be happy regardless of what gender he made them. (And even if I wasn't...there's always Nyotalia.).

I cant imagine,probably dumb fangirls giving Ireland the Mary Sue Syndrome,Croatia and his OC's suffer the same fate,some american made Croatia a mary sue girl that has the hots for Austria...disturbing.

Of course that doesn't make you weird, I'm also getting pretty tired of seeing so many female Irelands. Mainly because 98% of these female Irelands are Mary Sues, self-inserts or weepy damsels-in-distress. I personally think that it works better for Ireland to be a male. ^^

Finally someone who understands me! God, I'm sick of people creating Ireland OCs and then pairing them with England to fulfill their fantasies while knowing hardly anything about the history of the two. They just know there was some mutual history.. and that's it. And the Mary-Sueness of them... Urgh XD

Yeah, I've noticed an alarming abundance in female Irelands who are either in love with England, France or America. Or in some cases, with these three simultaneously and many more.

*sigh* It's painful to see really. I'm half English, but Ireland to me is a very interesting country, culturally and historically. I suppose I understand what you feel when you see a bad Ireland OC, since I'm also half Polish and I can't stand the canon (well, it's actually the fanbase that ruined Feliks..). I'm certain one day I'll start spamming MarySue!Female!Ireland OCs with my thoughts about them... xD
