Description Decided to start posting my collection of computer stuff!

This is my Compaq Presario 7000 tower. It was formerly my mom's, but she let me have it. I believe the tower is about 17, that's what my mom thinks. Plus, it has pictures stored on it that start in 2001. The pictures end in 2008 or so, and I think that's when my mom stopped using this because of that. It has a monitor, but not it's original one, it's my step-brother's old Acer one. My mom got rid of the original monitor when she stopped using the computer, but kept the tower. The tower sat in the garage for about 8 years (I'm guessing, I've had the same house since 2010.) until I found it. Eventually, my mom and I plugged it in. The computer works and runs pretty smoothly, though it can slow down at times. It doesn't do too well when running The Sims 2, though. Downloading the game didn't take too long, but gameplay is a pain because it's extremely slow. The computer runs on Windows XP.

Here are posts I've made on some experimenting I've done with the computer:

Gaming:Β I tried running Sims 2 on an old computer.

i got a very similar looking computer yesterday, a compaq presario 5000 (5WV254). i think it's pretty nice despite only having a 7000mhz AMD Duron processor.

I think Windows XP was released in August of 2001, but the system may have been upgraded to XP, I used to repair those old Compaqs, and they looked like that clear back to 1998

Actually, XP started on Oct 21, 2001 (Saleswise) and really began on August 21, 2001) up until April 16? 2016. Up until that date it it out of service for upgrades and internet usage. Windows 95 also came out on this month. I think it's on this exact day I'm writing this!

Oh I see...My Middle school still had XP in a Sped class in the 8th grade (2015-16), so I was lucky. I'm in 11th grade so I bet they changed it to Windows 7 now

Yeah same back when I was still in my old school in 2014 and they upgraded from socket 775 Pentium 4 machines to Core 2 Duos

It could be from 1998, my mom doesn’t remember exactly when she got it. So it may’ve ran on Windows 98 originally.
