Description Well, i would say this has been a long road. Over 3 days of playing around with this image trying to make it look as good as possible, though i'm still not too proud with it, theres something missing. Also i'm waiting for the space god (skurvy) to come online so i can sort out what needs fixing.

100% ps7

this really is a nice piece... some great brushwork... although i have to say that the starfield and... lets say focal point ( dont know how to say this in another way ) could have been better blended with eachother... but apart from that... well done!

Wow i love this, the one thing i do like, i hope i havnt got this totally wrong, but in the bottom left. It looks like a huge planet with a smaller one orbiting it, this is something i dont think ive ever seen before and its a great idea, looks fantastic

psamtik In reply to stealthyhydra [2003-09-13 23:46:34 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the comment, and i'm very sure you've seen another planet orbiting a bigger one because 90% of the space scenes i see have them

Try going to [link] and look for his tutorial on stars. Its pretty good but somewhat hard to get a decent product out of it, with a little practice you can get an awesome starfield though.

thanks, been there and used it, some of my pieces like my featured deviation has the starfield from the tutorial... Trust me i was thinking about using it but it wasn't looking right.

Thanks for the comment

Hey man awsome work, your nebula is superb, this is your best spacey stuff yet! Some things that kinda bother me though are your stars, they should be a bit brighter perhaps, and your planet on the right, its not at a perfect sphere... Maybe fix that. Its still really tight though, +fav

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

psamtik In reply to ucd [2003-09-13 06:44:27 +0000 UTC]

Ya dude, trust me, i tried making the stars brighter, but the whole image just didn't look right =/ also the bottom planet "was" a complete sphere lol, just the shadows screwed the magic wand from selecting the right color

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ucd In reply to psamtik [2003-09-13 13:26:12 +0000 UTC]

IF the planet is still on its own layer, just copy the top of the planet and paste it, flip it, and then erase it with a soft pixel brush to make it blend in with the rest of the planet, viola, your planet is fixed. And about the stars, copy the stars layer, then give it a gaussian blur of like 2 or 3, and then if it fits better a blending of screen or something. Whereever the stars done look right, just erase the parts of the new layer. Usually around the nebula the stars would be a bit brighter... but thats just me. Hope that helped bro
