I saw a tweet about using action movies as references for fighting poses, particularly those by Cynthia Rothrock and many other actors. So I decided to try out some simple fighting poses.If you've seen the Ip Man movies, then you'll recognise that AJ is using the Wing Chun move "Bong Sau" (Wing Hand) to block the spinning kick. Her left hand is raised in a prayer-like position called "Pak Sau" (Slapping Hand), to parry any follow-up attacks.

I animated the arms, legs and hair to move in SFM. When I render the poster, the motion blur is automatically applied to the moving parts.

I set the movement to occur over about 4 frames. So I render the 4 frames, and pick the frame with the suitable amount of motion blur.
