this is an extremely in-depth and detailed picture, and i feel that it expresses what you would expect from Zeus - unpredictability, anger, and also some of the mystical and magical. the backdrop of the planets only adds more to the overall feeling of the divine, which is what i think that this picture is attempting to depict. it is original, with the concept of Zeus standing among the stars. also, he is depicted here in more of a Roman style figure, with shorter hair and a younger body type. in the Greek version of the Pantheon, Zeus is depicted as being older, usually with longer white hair and a full beard.

You're pretty much the most awesome person for allowing others to know your processes. You are a blessing to people like me who are dying for tutorials from people who really know how to do art.

you are really good at blending the various source pics and unifying the colors... but as the other commenter said, there is something off here... i think its two issues: 1. the lightning in his hand gives off no light (everything around is in shadow) and 2. the planets are surrounded by a cloudy sky, not "space"... which means they are really small objects within the atmosphere, not actually planets. if you replaced the cloudy sky with stars and nebulae, it would look more "correct" and also amplify the idea that he is a god.
question:
back to your color correcting all the images, i have looked at your files, and see there is a separate layer for this, but could you explain how you do it? is it a paint bucket thing, paint/airbrush, or do you use the hue/contrast bars, etc. it seems this step is what is most important, it brings all the elements together and fixes all the different color schemes... i have trouble with this when i try to "shortcut" my paintings and import a background for a more realistic look.

well, normally i use gradient colors or hue sat / color range etc...over the whole image...then i use the layer blends and go making test untill i get a cool result. (overlay, dark light etc)
normally these forms are good because if we have images that dont really match in color than with these corrections they all basiclly end up looking alike with it.

thanks for responding... i have only played with those controls a little bit, and have no grasp on what they do... but i do see that when properly used, the end result has such an awesome, unifying mood to the drawing, and its not a collection of mismatched pieces.

this can sound a bit tricky, but if you read carefully i'm sure you'l understand what i mean

Composition is great. Zeus's Master Bolt is well done!
