"Yo me voy apoderar!"
"What the — HOW THE BLOODY HELL DID YOU EVEN GET UP THERE?!"
I have no idea how to tag these subtle things anymore. Fan art? Or original?
Loosely based off of Britain and Spain from Hetalia~
*Historical aspect of this*
Symbolic representation of the rise of Spain's strong armada, building one of the greatest empires in the world, the Spanish Empire. And, this can also be interpreted differently as the Golden Age of Piracy; if you think of it this way, Spain's dominant form in the foreground shows a rebel due to the fact that their empire was declining then. Spain quoted here: "Yo me voy apoderar!" Which translates along the lines of, "I am taking over!" Though the irony to one interpretation means otherwise. Britain would believe he's lost it at this point.
As for the other interpretation is the Spaniard ruling over the seas for gold. So heck with it, he'd be.
Time period for these interpretations would be the early seventeenth century 1600s-1660s -- see the galleons(aka ships) are 16th century galleons our professor wanted us to specifically and properly illustrate. Also, 1660s-1726s is the Golden Age of Piracy in the Caribbean (the decline of Spain's great power, and the rise of so-called, 'pirates') while it's the time of England, France and Dutch Netherlands colonization across the seas.

You're half right...Spain's Empire was still pretty strong though (Spain beat the UK's Counter Armada the very next year after his own armada sank!) and they thrashed the UK at the Battle of Cartagena de Indias in 1741 (which was the REAL reason UK pulled out of the War of Austria Succession) so France, UK and the Netherlands might have managed to make off with small Spanish territories (most of them time due to Spain's abandoning of them) but they were never really able to take Spain's place as dominant in the Americas or make off with much of Spain's land. Plus, Spain started using convoy systems to avoid having his ships stolen and used his OWN pirates from Spain or his islands in the Caribbean...Puerto Rico had lots of its own pirates! So Spain was still a badass!

I never said Spain wasn't a badass xD Ahhh sii! Thanks for the additional input. (I haven't really put forth the whole story behind the Spanish Empire here but I'm glad you expanded on that).

No worries! Yeah, I just like to tell people some backstory if it's relevant to the story and especially because the fandom is full of love for the human names and pairings but many people forget about the actual history of the country or don't bother to learn at least the basics. And even if the authors know about it, all too often the readers don't so that's why I still like to let people know just in case. But no problem! You have good potential and I look forward to reading more from you one day!

Violated!!! . He looks like he's harmlessly climbing the ropes and been a nuisance, eg annoying for Mr Kirkland but surely less troublesome then a certain Frenchmen

Ehehe! True, true
Still. Mr. Carriedo's trespassing his ship. I guess both were lonely and had no crew (from my laziness of adding one).
