my dev ID from 2007 redone, because seriously it looks odd with the old background. I didn't update the old one to this one though because the original holds a special place in my heart <3[link]
Yes. It got a DD. Don't like it?

it's not "just" dA emotes but creatively creating a mozaic about my love for deviantart, out of dA emotes with a bit of irony, a lot of work and a good deal of actual thought put behind it.
secondly
because a DD isnt based on being the most amazing painting you've ever seen, but whatever the CR for the gallery deems is interesting enough to bring attention to.

It IS a screenshot, of the mozaic I made in a journal that I turned into a Dev ID because of what it means to me...
Which was made a DD because of what it means to ^PurpelBlur (whom is a pretty darn good CR if you ask me or pretty much anyone else)
Now...
If you have any more rude comments kindly keep them to yourself and instead suggest things YOU think should get a DD to the appropriate CR
Whining because I got a DD on a Dev ID I created because I happen to love a site I've been a part of for nearly 6 years is really lame and childish.

actually...no, it isn't narrow minded of them...it is wholly narrow minded of you and you alone. if you knew anything about this site or how it works (especially the DD feature) then you would know that not only did you break site rules by leaving your disapproval of a DD on the deviation itself, but you also seem to know nothing about why or how DD's are chosen in the first place.
since you don't seem to know how to use links to get to the FAQ...even though they are littered all over the site...here is the info copied and pasted DIRECTLY from the FAQ here on deviantART:
What do I do when I disapprove of a Daily Deviation feature?
A Daily Deviation is intended to give an artist a chance to be seen by a large portion of the community and as not everyone has the same tastes, it is obvious that you may not appreciate every piece that is selected as a daily deviation.
If you have a problem with a particular Daily Deviation feature, do NOT leave your disapproval among the other comments on the piece. It is disrespectful to the artist featured, the person who chose it and/or the person that suggested it.
If you absolutely must voice your disapproval of a selected feature, feel free to note $Moonbeam13 however, unless the image violates policy in some way, it is highly unlikely it will be removed.
In severe cases, if you "flame" or harass a featured artist, you may be banned."
Who selects the Daily Deviation and how is it chosen?
The Daily Deviation is a daily staff feature chosen from the galleries here on deviantART.
The selecting administrator may be a Volunteer Gallery Moderator or other staff/volunteer member who has been granted the necessary access to the special selection tools.
A small assortment of submissions are chosen each day by this select group of staff/volunteer members who wish to showcase an image which they found impressive or otherwise interesting enough to deserve being brought to the attention of the community-at-large. *It is important to note that selections need not be of professional quality in order to be featured for the day.*
Individual staff/volunteers may show different levels of activity which may lead to certain genres or types of artwork to be chosen more often than others. If you believe that a certain type of artwork is being overlooked or under-represented please feel free to offer suggestions by noting or emailing the appropriate staff/volunteer member..."
as you can plainly see, not only does your opinion on what is deserving of a DD or the reasons behind it not matter one tiny bit (yes, that's right, your opinion DOES NOT MATTER) but you also broke the rules by stating your opinion in the comments for the artist to read. you totally and completely disrespected the artist of this deviation, the person that chose to feature it, and the whole site itself by actually taking part in the one thing that true deviants complain about most.......whining about whether or not a DD deserved to get the DD in the first place....
a bunch of DD's are given every day....you aren't going to like or agree with all of them....you know what you're supposed to do....get over it....not talk about it.

Actually it does.
As it says in the faq that if you have a problem do not comment on the deviation itself.
And as for a high horse, I don't mine critiques but you're just outright being a jerk and whining because this got featured.

There's a difference between critiquing a work and insulting two deviants at the same time. The second is very much not appreciated.
