+++ Witcher meets Cyberpunk
All right, the subject is anything but new. Ciri even tells in Witcher 3 how she took refuge from The Wild Hunt in a cyberpunk world for a while. Therefore there are also countless pictures of this kind.
I don't care, I want too! So I recently converted all 4 characters into a cyberpunk version and created some pictures with them.
And somehow I hope that the CD Project Red will allow itself the fun that at least Ciri will really appear as Easter Egg in the game.
+++ Problem / Hint
That I have some problems with rendering about the new 2080ti, I had already mentioned. I noticed that one of my absolute favorite sets "Stonemason's Urban Future 5" is the most affected , no matter what I do there (without everything) after 1-2h it switches to CPU rendering. That means, I might end up with 1000 iterations instead of the desired 5000-8000+. In other words, I have already prepared several motifs and all are noisy. For lack of alternatives I have chased the pictures through a Denoiser and accept the washed-out look.
It's not the memory or the like, I've made more complex scenes in the last weeks, where RAM and VRAM exploded shortly before. When I have time, I try to experiment further, but it is a tedious thing and I have little desire. So far it really seems to refer to only a few sets/settings.

Wow, what a cool image! So cool it might even make me like the idea that the Witcher will be replaced by a cyberpunk in the next CD Project Red game...
I have played the Witcher 3 two times in a row, but I must have missed the reference to the cyberpunk world there, so I credit you for the idea to bring the beloved characters in this new neon environment. Love the poses and the lighting, as well as their costumes, while their expressions somehow seem to ask “what are we doing here, can't we go back to Kaedwen?”

Who knows what CDPR does after Cyberpunk, but first of all I want that.
You're even ahead of me, played Witcher 3 only once and actually i want to play it again before the release of Cyberpunk. Only the first two parts I played 2x each. I like to wait a few years until I have forgotten most of it again.

I had to play the game again because I wanted to end up with Triss Maybe I should give it another try when the days are getting shorter again. I remember the scene from the link, very emotional, but I didn’t make the connection to Cyberpunk then. Let’s just hope CDPR can make the Witcher formula work in other times and places as well...

It's the other way around with me, I should give Yennefer another chance. Even if it was difficult for me to choose Triss, because I already knew the books and knew about Yennefer's importance. But through the first 2 games I had built up a deeper bond to Triss.

Played (only) The Witcher 3 on PS4, should probably get the first two games on PC - to use the rig for something else than rendering. Read the books, too, and look forward to the Netflix release.

I was not expecting it to look this good when fully zoomed in...really looks incredible. I guess you experienced issues on the render but to me this does not look washed out, it has a cool crisp and very bold feel to it... the textures look nice and juicy. And that backlighting frames a beautiful halo of light around the female figure. Top-notch work.

Thank you very much! Yes, I used some Photoshop tricks to enhance the (Mirko) contrasts and save it. Especially the skin texture is a bit softer than the noisy original. It looks more painted than natural. Which actually also has a cool look. But I'm glad you like it.

(Trotzdem sieht der Witcher ein bisschen aus wie ein junger Karl Lagerfeld, wenn er Cyberpunk Mode gemacht hätte...)

Oh yes, that with the "how well a picture arrives here" I have stopped trying to understand. Sometimes you think "that's really good now" and it's hardly noticed and others you actually only find "okay" get too much attention.
Think through the dark colors and the portrait format it is not as conspicuous in the thumbnail overview as the "landscape"-style pictures.

Sucks with the hardware problem / iterations problem
My setup is 1080ti - sometimes it freaks out too. Grrr
One thing I'm enjoying about the denoiser is for my comic - I wanted a smoother look. Setting it just right gives me a good base to paint over. Then I can add painted/drawn things not in the render, and everything looks more homogenous.
But yeah, the denoiser ruins highly detailed stuff if set too low/iterations.

If I overdo it and blow up the 11GB VRAM, then I understand it, but not if it's far from it and other scenes don't pose a problem. Quite strange.
True, for a comic look a denoiser is certainly a good basis, otherwise you fight to remove the small details.
In this case I also used an external denoiser and not the internal one of iray, because I didn't want to render the image again.
I was able to get some micro details back into Camera RAW afterwards.

You don't have to know everything. Whereby there is soon the Netflix series (have little hope) and the books I can also recommend.
It's a little more complicated.
- Yennefer (black hair) is Geralts (Witcher) big / eternal love. With her come also ~2 pictures.
- Triss (red hair) is rather something like his regular lover and good friend. But in Witcher 3 you can choose between both. In the books Yennefer was clearly the only true one.
- Ciri (white hair) is something like the adopted child of Geralt and Yennefer. Witcher 3 revolves around her and also most of the books, because she is something special.
Then there are dozens of other bed stories.

So Ciri is on the picture and I have chosen a pose that shows only familiarity and nothing erotic, at least for my feelings.

How can you play the first two parts, but not the third? The best part, one of the best games ever.
But Witcher 3 also has a very high playing time, so you can plan 100h with the 2 big story DLCs.
This will be the big change in the Netflix series for those who only know the games, because the first season of the series tells the first books (short stories) and everything is a bit different than you know it in the games.
