Description
over the edge:The sun, sparkling with last brilliance,
over the edge with past resilience.
Slowly, ever so slowly it fades,
a last courtier who a good night bades.
I sit and I wait and I stare,
slowly, ever so slowly I become more aware
of a sound a sight a being
something… I’m not sure what I’m seeing.
A lady who in white robe dances,
wading through unending melodic stances,
and slowly, ever so slowly she is joined
by others similarly cloaked and coined.
At last a great many were gathered
and in their unseeing eyes I was lathered,
and slowly, ever so slowly they began to sing
a song that thrilled with pure joy and ring.
The music of the night it bade me deep
but I stayed and listened and made me weep,
and slowly, ever so slowly it made me laugh,
and cry and feel and remember and love.
Seeing all these familiar faces
had slowly, ever so slowly drawn laces
and deep inside myself I felt I had awoken
something old yet new something that must be spoken.
As the dance ends a new symphony starts
and slowly, ever so slowly the dancers depart.
A new sparkle has appeared on stage
Everything is clearer now, memory starts to fade and age.
