It was a tragic and unfitting end to such a great ship.

You just think about all these ships that the Olympic collided with (the Hawke, two German subs, and this) and realize that unlike her sisters, she was the only "unsinkable" ship of the three. If there was one thing that she couldn't survive, it was the Great Depression.
I know that Ismay died the same year that scrapping of the Olympic was complete. Because of this, I believe he died of a broken heart along with natural causes.

But before that, a warship hit the Olympic but they both didn't sink.

and also RMS Olympic rammed a U-boat 103 during ww1.

Yup, and all of that, she survived. But worse is, she ended up in scrapping.

It was the end of both ships. Olympic was scrapped in 1935.
