different!diaminds r forever and beautiful but what is that makes such a beautiful stone? in contrast to the beautiful properties of diamond, graphite has similar properties but is not as beautiful as diamond.....this piece portrays the hard, crude yet a smooth nature of the same......the colour choice and the hard edges r deliberate.

Yep graphite is not as butifall as diamond, and in particular have a quite porous surface, something not visible on this picture, personnaly i think it could have been something interesting to use.
You have made a great work, i particulary like crystal shapes and the grey color
