I had one ... but for about 2 weeks only ... lol . My sister brought it from school one day (they had a little zoo there) and the iguana was up for adoption as we couldn't keep it with out cats! (LOL
). So we kept it for 2 weeks, until we found a suitable owner for it. As far as we've heard, it's doing very well and gotten very big!
We loved it while we had it. It loved to eat strawberries ... and it ate OUT OF OUR HANDS! It loved to be petted too ... much like cats, lol

Aww, sounds like fun! I've heard they can get aggressive as they get older though. I worry about them being unhappy in cages, but they certainly are lovely creatures. I haven't spent much time with one, my friend had a chameleon, but I saw it rarely .
I went to a stingray petting zoo and (it was amazing!) they also enjoyed being petted like cats! It's amazing how many living things enjoy touch from other living things.

Oh, and the guy we gave the iguana to, he lets her walk freely around the house. She has her little pool with water and hot rocks and lamps so she can keep herself moist and warm at all times, but it's not caged so she can walk out whenever she wants to . He also lets her outside in his backyard in the summer. She loves being sprayed with water (from a hose, lol) and lying there in the grass
. Or so we've heard
.

Aww, that's so nice! I wish I had a house big enough that I could have areas for each of many different kinds of pets! Always is a one or the other kind of deal.

Yeah ... wouldn't that be nice . But that's rather impossible for most regular folks. It would cost a lot of money! Though if I had enough money, I'd definitely have some kind of a zoo ...

Yes, after all ... we're all living creatures on the same planet who are evolutionally connected. All mammals exhibit affectionate and caring behaviors especially towards their young. And as we can now see, not only mammals have these feelings/behaviors .
