Arg. Yes. I chose this piece, of ALLL pieces, to practice FREEHAND INKING. SMART.Haven't inked for such a long time. I SO need more practice. Look at the lines man. uneven-ness pyo =__+
And I only noticed during inking that there's something wrong with Prime's head. bleh.
To re-ink or not to re-ink? hmm. probably will do a digital ink in Flash (suggested by Scorn-Maniac) tomorrow. Right now, panda is tired and slightly sulky at the results but will not be defeated by shaky hands and uncooperative pens! BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
erm. k i go now X3 just thot u guys might like a progress report... and if anyone wuld like to share their views on how they ink or how they think it can be done better, go ahead X3 am all ears~ i shall surrender to the digital for now.

Digging around galleries just happened to be a new hobby I caught.
Never mind about the uneveness. It still looks like Prime. We can recognise Prime if you do the certain this-that on the canvas.
But, what caught me was the pose you gave him. Optimus Prime would have your head if you caught him in this bad boy pose!

Practice your inking. Don't go for the easy way out.
You'll be a proud bunny when you can ink well. It'll also improve steadiness for general drawing too

I think the inks came out NICE- I suck at inking, so I know what suckage looks like.
Anywho; the artwork...good gravy-fo-baby, the art is lovely! Kinda looks like Prime after a few jogs, really. He's REALLY thin- but it looks so nice on him! : D awesome job again!

loving the prime here. interesting take on him. this g1 prime must point and laugh at energon prime all the time. hehe. the inking looks good! i freehand ink all my stuff (after about 2 pots of coffee at 3 in the morning no less), so i know what your saying about doing that on a tf drawing. great job!

LOL! Can imagine you ink after the coffee XD hyper man... iz really not easy drawing nice, clean straight lines! I literally held my breath everytime i started drawing a new line~ and then, my hand wuld twitch slightly from my blood pounding thru my veins... haha XD anywayz thanks for ur thots! Why wuld the G1 Prime laugh at the Energon Prime? XD (sorry, i haven't kept up with TF for such a long time so I'm not entirely sure what is going on. Lack of funding. bleh.)

Well, for freehand inking, I think it's great. But even the pro inkers used ruler sometimes, so well, why not use them in some parts? (especially loooong lines XD) well unless you want the surface not so smooth, that is.
just a suggestion though.

OMG! Its looking really good! For real, i dont spot any big problem, maybe some white ink will solve any problem you find along the way, but all i see is a darn good inking job, with expressive lines, the bolder outline gives the proper dimension.. I dont know what you meant by freehand inking, but if you're speaking of inking without ruler or templates, that sums up how i use to ink: indian ink for G-Pen nib or round nib, china-ink for #3 red sable brush. Inking with Flash can be cool but i just dont know. But i think its cool! Move on to the colors!!
