Yes, another updated version, I found a few more things that bother me.

IMPORTANT NOTE: These are only my opinions and personal hang-ups, please don't take them so seriously, thank you.

As you might have guessed, I've been a Digimon fan for a long time, ever since it first came to the states, actually. But as much as I love this franchise, there are some... problems I have with it.

Problems such as:

7. SOMETIME'S THERE'S WASTE OF POTENTIAL
The writing isn't always the best, sometimes we get plot holes or rambling stories. Take Digimon Ghost Game for example, it sticks mainly to a "monster of the week format", until the very end when it rushes towards the finish line. It's like the writers were more interested in scaring viewers then telling a whole story! There's also Digimon Adventure 02 and it's myriad of plot holes.

6. THE OCCASIONALLY NEEDLESSLY DARK PARTS
I'm not opposed to some scary moments in kids media, but it gets to the point where I feel a little uncomfortable, such as the final act of Tamers, which turns into a cosmic horror story aimed at kids. But my example here is Digimon Survive, which takes a more cynical look at the concept of "kids lost in a fantasy world of monsters". Look, I get that this is a dangerous situation, but I'd rather not see child characters either dead or traumatized, thank you very much! Kinda takes the fun out of the whole franchise... This is totally a me thing, though.

5. THE OVERUSE OF OMNIMON
You've seen it too, right? Almost every Adventure-related final battle since "Our War Game" HAS to have some variant of Omnimon. It's very tiresome. (And yes, I know it's Omegamon in the original Japanese version. Don't care.) This also ties into a few other gripes with the series I have down the line...

4. LEOMON (ALMOST) ALWAYS DIES
Pretty much every time a Leomon or Leomon variant appears, he eventually dies. First was Digimon Adventure, but he at least went out with some dignity. Then there was Digimon Tamers, where his death eventually lead to things going off the rails. And in Digimon Adventure Tri, where he was killed off just to fulfill the Leomon dies quota. You can see why I'm tired of this. Thankfully, the Adventure Reboot finally bucked the trend for the time being, so thanks for that, writers.

3. OVERUSE OF ADVENTURE
While Adventure 01 is my favorite season (partially for nostalgia reasons), I'm kinda tired of them overusing the characters of that season (kinda like with G1 Pokemon, if I'm being honest). Obvious example is the 2020 Adventure Reboot (why couldn't it have been it's own thing again?) but also Adventure Tri (screw that waste of space).

2. THE SEPERATION OF PARTNERS
A common trend is at the end of the season, the humans and their partners have to separate, for one reason or another. Can't say I'm a fan, tbh. I get why, but I still don't like it. The most egregious example is the end of Digimon Tamers. Even after all these years, I'm STILL not over it. Doesn't help that the hope spot at the very end turned out to be all for nothing. Screw you Konaka.

1. THE BIAS TOWARDS THE HERO AND HIS RIVAL
You've seen this too, right? The hero and his rival ALWAYS get the cool upgrades leaving everyone else in the dust. Example: in Digimon Frontier, Takuya and Koji get a sweet upgrade while the others have to sit on the sidelines. How is that fair?! Other examples: Tai and Matt in Digimon Adventure (as well as the reboot, for some stupid reason), and Davis and Ken in Adventure 02.

Again, I love the franchise, but I'm not gonna overlook it's flaws either.
