~The 13th Struggle~

Running along the dark road. Nothing but the road. Voices run by.
The rabbit hole is only the start of your problems.
"No, that's not true."
Stop it, there's no future in betwixt and between.
"But there's always time."
The world's running by you everytime you see it.
"I stop to see the sights once in a while, though."
Watch your step.
"What?"
A brilliant flash of light. Darkness replaced with pure white. White noise buzzing through.
Buzzing? What the?

The light bulb in the room was still flickering and buzzing with dim brightness. A dream - a bad one but nonetheless something inbetween realities of life.
The room was small and filled with only the necessities. Not much room for luxuries anyway. The rest of the apartment was much the same. A small kitchenette with a fridge for one and a stove for meals fit for one man and his kingdom. Not to mention the kitchen sink. The bathroom with as much space as the surroundings would allow for time - very small and efficent.
The buzzing of that one light in the room was annoying. The first thing on the to do list - Replace the dying bulb. Like there was much to do apart from daily routines anyway.

Morning crept between the bottom of the roller curtains. It has begun.
That time again, ey?
A short cold shower. Nothing fancy. Assuming into the styles of today. Slick-back hair, fresh breath, clean teeth, nice clothes. Nothing like the sense of conformity.
Then there's breakfast.
Can't deny yourself that, can you...
Nothing short of filling, that's for sure. Nothing overboard, just simple and plain. The way it should be.

The run to the door. Timing couldn't be any better. 5 minutes to 8. Out of the door, now.
Remember, you're now the world's bitch now. Don't forget that.
Slam! The hinges creaked after the dust settled. The number 13 on the door only reflecting the feet walking away along its metal surface. Emptiness fills the building once more.
