the endermens are the reason i only play with monsters on multiplayer and NEVER alone.
(also creepers. and zombies. and skeletons. and spiders)

In multiplayer, Endermen are reduced from psychotic monsters to the biggest pansies - since the whole "looking at them makes them angry" thing doesn't actually work at all. You can look at Endermen in multiplayer and they won't do anything.
And then you can hide behind them when skeletons are nearby, and the skeletons will shoot and anger the Endermen who will then kill the skeletons for you.
I assume/hope this will be fixed in 1.9.
